Social media—like Facebook—are among the most popular and effective ways to promote fundraisers and other special events. Unfortunately, many people are confused and intimidated when it comes to creating announcements and event pages, says Chad Gibson, general manager of
Bunker Hill Golf Course, and an expert at hosting hassle-free turnkey events.
“Many people are nervous with social media and don’t know the full capacity of it,” Chad reveals. “Fortunately, the Bunker Hill team is here to not only set up your social media Facebook event page, but they’ll also coach and teach you and your volunteers or family how to like, share and invite other guests so you can maximize it.”
That’s one reason why Bunker Hill is trusted to host more than 100 fundraisers every year, Chad says.
“What makes Bunker Hill different from most other venues is that our events are completely turnkey, with event experts who have decades of experience,” he emphasizes. “We take care of everything from planning to registration to food to entertainment, so when you come in you get to enjoy the time with your guests—and when you’re done you can just walk out the door and we do all the cleanup afterwards. Whether you’re doing a golf outing, a fundraiser or a class reunion that you’re going to be charging attendees for, we’re able to help you make up an attractive flier and we set up a website that handles all the registration and payment of the guests—and if there are any sponsorships or vendors, they could go on and register and pay online as well with a variety of payment options. Then we maintain a database of guests’ contact information so it’s even easier to get started next time.”
After the event, the Bunker Hill team will send thank-you notes and post photos on the Facebook page.
And there are other advantages that Bunker Hill offers:
Bunker Hill offers a house DJ and is able to handle all the catering.
“We do about 1,500 meals a week during the summertime,” Chad says. “Our team takes care of all the food service, and we have a full-service bar as well. We have a florist and a photographer we work with and a local hotel that we deal with for hotel stays and shuttling to and from the event.”
Chad says Bunker Hill’s deluxe bloody mary bar is a “showstopper” at special events.
Bunker Hill offers a variety of indoor and outdoor party venues, but its recently refurbished event center is the highlight, Chad says.
“Our new event center holds up to 160 people comfortably with a dance floor, tables for basket raffles or pictures, and open space in front of the bar for mingling,” he says. “It’s a gorgeous room with a panoramic view of the oldest—and the most beautiful—golf course in Medina County. Outside we have an open-air pavilion with bonfire pits. We also have a nice gazebo that is ideal for photos at class reunions, showers, rehearsal dinners or any kind of gathering. It’s an intimate setting for a ceremony of up to 16 people.”
Bunker Hill is expanding its popular outdoor pavilion.
“We’ll be able to hold 125 people under cover at the pavilion, making it really nice for guests,” Chad says. “We also have seating outside the pavilion with cornhole and other activities available.”
Bunker Hill’s Sims Room—which features the latest technology in computer golf simulators—is another desirable spot for exciting parties.
“It’s a blast for birthday parties and diaper parties,” Chad says.
Chad spared no expense when he recently upgraded his six simulators to the Tiger Woods Full Swing Pro 2.0 machines with Ion2 camera technology.
“You can play more than 70 championship golf courses, including classics like Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines and four of the St. Andrews courses,” he says.
And you can have a lot of mischievous fun.
“The simulators include a ton of fun arcade games, like those where you can aim your shots at the driving range ball retrievers or windows of a downtown building,” Chad says.
Outdoor golf is also spectacular at Bunker Hill, Chad says.
“Bunker Hill is the oldest golf course in Medina County and one of the finest,” he says. “We’re approaching 100 years in 2027 and the golf course is in pristine shape. We’re offering amazing deals on memberships to Mimi readers. If you want to take advantage of a full year membership, Monday through Friday and weekends after 2:30 p.m., you could get the membership for $1,800 instead of $2,800 at
