Here’s how Impact Home Remodeling can help you live better in the spaces you already have.

After spending the past six months enjoying the extra living space our backyards provide—from alfresco dinners to evenings around the firepit—it’s time to head back inside. And that’s when you may realize your indoor rooms could use a little more room.

As the holidays approach, many homeowners are rethinking how their homes function when entertaining moves indoors. Kitchens can feel crowded, basements can feel unfinished and bathrooms can be less than inviting when a house is full of guests.

“We get busy in the fall remodeling homes as homeowners want to add more—and beautifully updated—space to host family and friends for the holidays,” says Joe Chiera, who along with his wife Kristen owns Impact Home Remodeling. “It always comes down to the big three: kitchens, basements and bathrooms.”

Dream Kitchens

If you want to make a noticeable difference in the way your home looks and functions, the kitchen is a natural place to start. Today’s kitchen remodels are designed around how families actually live, combining hardworking features with details that make the space feel special.

From high-end appliances and custom cabinetry to oversized islands, beverage stations and cleverly concealed storage, every element can be tailored to make cooking, gathering and entertaining easier.

“There are many design options we can show you, or you can bring us your ideas, and we will bring them to life,” Joe says. “We always like to blend on-trend décor items with classic elements to create a timeless design you will enjoy for years to come.”

The kitchen remodel shown here blends classic elegance with a contemporary feel. White cabinetry, marble-look surfaces and warm hardwood floors create a bright, timeless foundation, while statement pendant lights add a touch of sophistication.

The goal is a kitchen that works just as well for a quiet morning coffee as it does for a house full of holiday guests.

Finished Basements

Finishing a basement can transform previously underused square footage into some of the most versatile space in the house. Rather than treating the lower level as an afterthought, Impact creates finished spaces that feel like a natural extension of the home—with beautiful flooring, thoughtful lighting and design details that carry the same level of style as the floors above.

The possibilities are nearly endless: a family room, kids’ playroom, home theater, game room, or even a bar for entertaining.

The basement pictured here serves as all of the above. On one end is a bar and lounge area and on the opposite side you’ll find comfy couches and a TV for family to gather and watch a movie or play games.

“An unfinished basement is a blank canvas,” Kristen says. “You can design it entirely around your lifestyle.”

And because the space is separate from the main living areas, a finished basement can give everyone a little more room to spread out when the house is full.

Spa-like Bathrooms

Today’s remodels are turning ordinary bathrooms into calming retreats, with oversized showers, beautiful tile, warm cabinetry and elevated finishes.

One recent Impact remodeling project transformed a bathroom into a wet room, where everything is tiled and can get wet, including a curbless shower divided by a glass wall, a freestanding tub and floating vanity. Textured white tile, champagne-gold fixtures and warm wood cabinetry give it a more organic, nature-inspired design.

And the emphasis on wellness is showing up in more than just the finishes.

“Lately, we’ve seen a shift toward health and wellness,” Kristen says.

That can mean designing a bathroom around relaxation and incorporating features that make everyday routines feel a little more restorative.
