Melanie Bowen is rooted in Strongsville
Buying or selling a home is so personal, Howard Hanna’s Melanie Bowen makes it a point to connect with each client on their own terms.

Talk about putting down roots. Howard Hanna real estate agent Melanie Bowen has done just that—literally and figuratively—in Strongsville.
She lives and works in the city, where she has spent decades helping homeowners sell their houses and guiding buyers to the place they’re proud to call home. And along with a close circle of friends, she has planted five trees in Strongsville’s Town Center, each one serving as a living memorial to a loved one.
“It’s a wonderful way to memorialize a friend with a tree planted and plaque placed in their honor,” Melanie says. “And it beautifies the city.”
For her, those trees represent a community that continues to grow while holding on to the hometown character that makes Strongsville special.
“Even though Strongsville has grown exponentially, there has been an effort this past decade to keep that small community feel that makes it such a great place to live and raise a family,” she says.
It’s a combination that has helped make Strongsville a sought-after destination for homebuyers—and given Melanie a front-row seat to the city’s ever-changing real estate landscape. Today, as the local market continues to evolve, she is seeing firsthand what buyers and sellers are looking for and what is driving demand in Strongsville.
Growing Real Estate Market
Over the course of her decades-long career, Melanie has navigated every kind of market cycle —from record-high 18% mortgage rates in the early 1980s to the new home construction boom in the 1990s. As a top producer in the Howard Hanna Strongsville office, as well as consistently ranking in the top 5% nationwide for home sales, she is a seasoned real estate professional who adjusts to every market condition.
“It’s been a good year for real estate, as this past year there has been more inventory than the year before,” Melanie says. “It’s still a strong market for both homeowners and those looking to buy a new home.”
While Melanie is busy year round, she notes that fall is one of the best times to sell your home as there are more serious buyers looking. “During the spring and summer, there are a lot of people looking for homes and feeling out the market, but those who are looking now are more determined to make an offer and get into their new home before the holidays.”
Stemming from Compassion
Real estate can be fast paced and high pressure, but Melanie is a calming force. Maybe it comes from 30-plus years of experience. Or perhaps it is because she has a degree in psychology from Baldwin Wallace University.
While real estate and psychology may seem like unrelated career paths, Melanie has found a natural way to combine the two to better serve her clients. Her approach is grounded in compassion, insight and professionalism, along with a genuine understanding that buying or selling a home is about much more than a transaction.
“There is so much more to real estate than just showing houses,” she says. “I help guide clients through the emotions and challenges that come with buying or selling a home.”
That personal approach has been a constant throughout Melanie’s career. She works closely with clients from the first conversation about setting a list price through escrow closing, making sure they have an experienced advocate by their side every step of the way.
“I approach real estate the same way I approach life. It’s all about making meaningful connections and growing relationships,” she says.
