Each StretchLab Flexologist has a background in a related field like exercise science, kinesiology, yoga or personal training. They complete an extensive, three-tiered certification process including online coursework, in-person workshops and more than 20 practice hours.


With summer right around the corner, many of us are eager to spend more time outdoors enjoying golf outings, pickleball games, long walks, gardening and all the movement that comes with the season. StretchLab Pinecrest is helping clients prepare for an active summer with assisted stretching designed to loosen tight muscles, improve mobility and support better movement.


“A consistent stretching routine helps keep your body moving comfortably and provides accountability on the days when it would be easy to skip recovery and mobility work,” says StretchLab Pinecrest General Manager Christina Imondi. “As activity levels increase during the summer months, it’s important to prepare the body so you can continue doing the things you enjoy without feeling stiff, restricted or at greater risk for injury.”


A StretchLab assisted stretch is a one-on-one customized session designed to help you achieve your fitness and wellness goals, whatever they may be.


Stretching is one of those things we know we should be doing more of, but many people aren’t sure where to start or worry about doing it incorrectly. At StretchLab, your Flexologist is a trained expert who guides you through each stretch and helps you achieve results you may not be able to accomplish on your own.


“Many of our clients want relief from discomfort caused by sitting at a desk, standing all day or simply not moving enough,” Christina says. “Then when they want to get active and enjoy summer activities, they experience pain due to inflexibility, tension and fear of injury. Consistent assisted stretching can help break that cycle.”


A StretchLab Flexologist is a trained expert with a background in health and fitness who completes an extensive, three-tiered certification process focusing on administering StretchLab’s 26 signature stretches, designed to address every muscle group in the body.


Each stretch utilizes proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, a stretching technique that uses resistance to target tissues and ligaments while improving muscle elasticity.


“Flexologist training includes 60 hours of in-person workshops, online sessions and more than 20 practice hours administering StretchLab’s 26 stretches,” Christina says. “We work with clients of all ages and abilities who all have different goals. Every stretch session is customized to help clients move and feel better.”


Your initial stretch appointment begins with a MAPS assessment evaluating mobility, activation, posture and symmetry, giving your Flexologist helpful information to focus on the right muscle groups and maximize your session.


“Before you even arrive for your first stretch session, a StretchLab team member reaches out to learn more about your goals, lifestyle, past injuries and other helpful information,” Christina says. “The more we know, the better we can help.”


StretchLab members include everyone from young athletes hoping to improve flexibility and performance to older adults who want to remain active, mobile and confident in their movements.


“We hear from golfers who have improved their swing thanks to greater flexibility and strength, pickleball players who move more comfortably on the court, and grandparents who find it easier to keep up with the grandkids,” Christina says. “Everyone’s goals are different, but they all want to continue enjoying the activities they love.”


As activity levels increase during the summer months, Christina says mobility and recovery become even more important.


“When muscles are tight and joints aren’t moving properly, the risk of strains and injuries increases,” she says. “Assisted stretching increases circulation, improves mobility and helps your body respond better to everyday movement so you can stay active all season long.”


Christina also emphasizes that recovery is just as important as activity itself.


“Many people push through soreness or tightness because they think it’s a normal part of staying active,” she says. “But taking care of your muscles and joints with consistent stretching can help reduce tension, improve circulation and support recovery so your body continues to feel strong throughout the season.”
