Sell one, give one

Homeowners who list and sell with Aaron Peterson, founder of SOGO Homes, are helping moms in need.

A person in a suit stands on a paddleboard on a lake, waving, while holding a sign with a logo, in front of a brick house.

With real estate agent Aaron Peterson’s flat-rate selling formula, homeowners are keeping more of their money when they go to sell—and helping others.

“If you want to sell your home for top dollar in 2023, this is the month to do it,” says Aaron Peterson, founder of SOGO Homes. “Summer is the perfect time to list your house. With everything blooming, your home is in its best light. For families with children, there is time to get the kids into a new school system.”

This new brokerage also gives you another reason to list your house, as it was created to help the greater community.

SOGO Homes—which stands for Sell One, Give One—is based on the innovative business model that for every house the company sells or buyer it helps find a home, it will donate a portion of the commission.

“SOGO Homes is driven not by dollars and market share, but by impact,” says Aaron. “We want to make a positive impact in Northeast Ohio, so we will donate a portion of our commission. Every time someone sells or buys a home with us, a portion of our proceeds will be gifted to a single mother in need as a down payment toward home ownership.”

Earlier this month, a buyer from California loved the charity component of the company and is now working with the Akron real estate firm. “After googling the top real estate agent in Akron, my name topped the list so the buyer contacted me to look for investment properties in town,” Aaron says. “The buyer is involved in charities in California so when she learned what we are doing to help others, she hired us.”

Though SOGO Homes works with buyers, it is the homeowners who benefit the most by saving money with the company’s flat-fee rate. Instead of paying a percentage of the sale in commission, SOGO Homes has a $4,800 flat fee that includes everything from helping homeowners set the most attractive listing price to photography to negotiating the final deal.

“Go with your head, go with your heart, go with SOGO,” Aaron says. “You will save money while helping others.”
