A shakeup in the real estate industry’s decades-old practice of paying 6% commission, split between seller’s agent and buyer’s agent, may mean homeowners will be paying less commission in the future. An agreement by the National Association of Realtors stating that homeowners who are selling their home only need to pay commission fees to their agent and no longer to the buying agents is pending approval.
