Q: How did you find out about Spartan StormShield?

A: There were a number of storms that went through our area and we noticed that many of our neighbors were getting their roofs replaced. When we asked around, they recommended we get in touch with Joel Arlia of Spartan. He came out and did the estimate. He was knowledgeable and helpful. We appreciate that there was no pressure. He took care of the legwork of dealing with the insurance company and advocated for us. 

Q: Did you interview other roofing companies, and if so, why did you choose Spartan?

A: Once we met Joel, there was a level of trust and comfort, so we didn’t bother getting other estimates.

Q: What was the scope of your roofing job?

A: The back one-third of our roof is solar panels, which had to be temporarily removed by a solar panel company. Spartan completed the replacement of the shingled portion of the roof. There was a lot of complex coordination between the two companies to get the work done on time. And they did that fluidly. 

Q: What was your first impression of Spartan? Your initial call to the company?

A: The person we spoke with seemed very genuine and knowledgeable. We were told what to expect at every step of the job. Since we are very busy with work, it was a relief to realize how much help they would be in dealing with the insurance company on our behalf.

Q: What was the installation experience like?

A: To be honest, most of it happened while we were on vacation. For the part when we were home, the installers were courteous and respectful. They did a great job covering up all our plants and landscaping and thoroughly cleaned the job site when they were done. After the job was over, they followed up to see if we were happy with it. I said we were but mentioned a minor cosmetic issue I noticed. They came over immediately and took care of it.

Q: Did you feel your roof was a good value?

A: Yes. It looks so much better. We’re also pleased with the lifetime warranty. Joel took the time to go over the wide selection of shingles and upgraded us while still working within our budget. We’re grateful and feel the new roof will boost our home’s value.

Q: Why would you recommend Spartan to other homeowners?

A: This company was strongly recommended to us, and we will pass along a similarly strong recommendation to others. Integrity means a lot and Spartan is a company that definitely stands behind its work. We’re pragmatic. If we’re going to spend serious money, we want to do it with a company we believe in.
