A. Layne Builders has a reputation for creating distinctive living spaces, inside and out.

A. Layne Builders, a boutique design and build firm, has earned a reputation for imagining and bringing to life distinctive living spaces with high-end touches and exceptional craftsmanship.

If you’ve visited luxury homes in Barrington Estates or Walden and admired the chic aesthetic, there’s a good chance it was created by A. Layne Builders.

This boutique design and build firm has earned a reputation for imagining and bringing to life distinctive living spaces with high-end touches and exceptional craftsmanship.

“We help homeowners make a bold, one-of-a-kind statement,” says founder Ron Wolford, who notes his company is named for his 5-year-old daughter Amelia Layne. “I’ve hired only the best of the best craftsmen, from designers to installers, carpenters and painters. I only work with people who are as passionate about perfection as I am. Our cabinetry is locally crafted.”

High-end kitchens and baths, decks, exterior work and custom-made built-ins like locker rooms and bookshelves are specialties.

“I spend time with each homeowner sketching their vision and going through however many iterations it takes for a finished look that is stunning and unique to them,” adds Ron, who has spent the past 20 years in the remodeling business.

Function is as important as form and included in kitchen designs are amenities like pot-fillers and built-in espresso machines.

“People are asking for more natural and raw woods in their homes, such as hickory, walnut and maple,” he says. “Our clients see cabinetry as an impressive focal point. Trending now is spalted wood, an exquisite species where insects have created tiny pinholes and color variations.”

Bold colors like grassy green are having a moment, too, especially paired against a neutral palette.

“We live up to our tagline of creating homes people will fall in love with again and again when they walk through their door,” he says. “When a job is done, and I get to see a homeowner’s face light up, I’m proud to have made it happen.”

Ron says due to demand, within the next year he plans to move into building new homes in the area.

Headquartered in Aurora, A. Layne Builders transforms homes throughout its surroundings communities. Call 440-591-9727 or visit ALayneBuilders.com to view the amazing before and after galleries.
