Totally custom pergolas

You can’t find these in a store. Pergolas from Cleveland Pergola are totally custom.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

A Cleveland Pergola adds more living space to your home. An added benefit is it also adds to your home’s value.

The summer season in Northeast Ohio is fleeting. Maybe that’s why we appreciate, and even treasure, our outdoor time during the summer months, especially when we’re at home. What if I said you could enjoy more time at home with family and friends outdoors, even in those not-so-outdoor-friendly seasons of the year?

Three years ago, Brian and Michelle Doskocil purchased Bruce Custom Awnings, a custom awning business that had been serving the motorsports industry since 1985. Fast forward through additional partnerships and name iterations, they are now Cleveland Pergola, offering residential and commercial pergolas, awnings, sun rooms and pavilions to homes and business owners throughout Northeast Ohio. Enjoying outdoor spaces all year long is officially an option.

“We ask a lot of our decks and patios,” says Brian. “Homeowners deal with rain, sleet and snow, humidity, leaves and debris, high winds, bugs and chilly evenings. Sometimes several of these in one day. Choosing an operable, louvered pergola combines the comfort of indoors with the flexibility and enjoyment of open-air living.”

As lifetime Northeast Ohio residents themselves, Brian and Michelle understand how frustrating it is to have decks and patios and only use them when the weather is just right. An operable pergola is the answer.

“Our pergolas are custom engineered to your home’s needs,” says Brian. “We research the location of your home and typical weather patterns to determine snow load and wind loads, then build a pergola with the structural integrity to withstand the stress. This isn’t just a throw it up there and hope for the best situation. It’s custom from start to finish.”

Mark and Jacqueline Azbill of Concord Township know all about the experience you’ll have with Cleveland Pergola.

“We wanted coverage over the entire deck, something we were having trouble finding with other companies,” Mark says. “No one was able to accomplish what we were looking for, until we met Brian. He listened to our needs and developed a design for our custom, 28-by-20-foot pergola.”

As someone with many years of experience in the construction business, Mark described his frustrations that no one was able to offer the flexibility Cleveland Pergola provided.

“We wanted to maximize as much space as we could outdoors,” Mark says. “We needed full coverage and were not willing to settle for less. With Cleveland Pergola, that was not a problem.”

Cleveland Pergola louvers have a 140-degree range of motion, allowing fully open to complete closure. Structures are equipped with an interior gutter system with concealed downspouts inside the posts for better functionality and aesthetics.

Mark and Jacqueline celebrated Easter outdoors this year with the whole family on the deck, something they were never able to do in the past.

“Our quality of life has improved with this added living space to our home,” says Mark. “Our deck is our new living room. We couldn’t be happier.”

Mark says Brian handled every aspect of the project from start to finish, including gaining permits and satisfying neighborhood HOA requests.

“Every community has different needs and specifications,” Brian says. “We will work through those issues to ensure your project satisfies all regulations. It’s part of the service you’ll get with Cleveland Pergola.”

Mark and Jacqueline’s pergola includes side screens for wind and insect control, along with fans, heaters, LED lighting and, of course, those louvers—all controlled by the push of a button.

Made from heavy-grade, extruded aluminum, Cleveland Pergola structures have a premium powder coating finish, making them maintenance-free for life. Available in contemporary and classic designs and in several color choices, your pergola is built to fit your needs and style.

The addition of a pergola is an investment in your home, providing long-lasting beauty along with practical functionality.

“We were out of town recently and our grandchildren Facetimed us from our deck,” says Mark. “They use it even when we’re gone. It’s our family gathering place and that’s exactly what we hoped for.”

Brian and Michelle took the time to understand the Azbill family’s needs and provide them with exactly what they wanted.

“We are doing something unique in this business, and we don’t do high-pressure sales,” says Michelle. “We take the necessary time, make a plan everyone is comfortable with, and execute it to the finish.”

Brian notes the pride they take in Cleveland Pergola’s attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

“My name is on the project and that means everything to me,” says Brian. “Our crews are professional, show up consistently through the finished job and keep your homesite neat. A Cleveland Pergola structure is an investment in your home and your future.”
