Iconic events

If it’s meant to be celebrated, Encore Event Center will make it iconic.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

From lavish weddings and outdoor concerts to everything in between, Strongsville’s Encore Event Center plays backdrop to some of the area’s most iconic events.

At a sprawling 80,000 square feet, Encore Event Center in Strongsville isn’t only one of the largest and grandest venues in Northeast Ohio—it’s also one of the most versatile.

From intimate micro-weddings of around 50 guests to lavish galas and fundraisers hosting more than 800 people, the renovated iconic space (formerly Michaud’s) has quickly become the ideal place for every kind of gathering to find its perfect stage.

“We’ve hosted everything from showers and rehearsal dinners to corporate functions, weddings and fundraisers,” says President and Co-Owner Khadar Soussou.

A niche the venue has become well-known for is catering to multicultural weddings and celebrations, including vibrant Indian and Middle Eastern gatherings.

“These events often unfold over several days and are steeped in traditions we love to help guests follow, as well as elaborate décor and nuanced cuisine,” he says.

Beyond the stunning setting, Encore also delivers on lending peace of mind by handling the big and little details of wedding planning.

“Our seasoned event team can orchestrate everything from the catering to the lighting and décor, the linens, flowers and more,” says Khadar. “Pretty much all the busy couples have to do is show up.”

You’ll find eight distinctive event spaces indoors, each with its own personality and décor. The smallest room, the Starlight, is a multilevel space with dramatic dark woods for up to 100 guests. The Bravo Room is elegantly adorned in cream and white, with opulent gold accents, crystal chandeliers cascading from the ceiling, and mirrored walls for up to 250 guests.

“Our 12,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom is the largest and most opulent space, with a private entrance, layers of lighting, two stages, private bar, chic furnishings and state-of-the-art audio visuals,” he says.

Graduation parties take on a life of their own at Encore, with families embracing the casual vibe of its 1-acre outdoor courtyard. Picture chef-attended grill stations sizzling and a host of the area’s hottest food trucks, including the venue’s own Flight Bites, serving up festive special occasion fare.

Complete with fire pits, fountains and a putt-putt golf hole surrounding the natural wood pavilion, the resort-like courtyard also boasts quick-drying AstroTurf for a lush, lovely green backdrop without the dirt.

What are the Parties Like?

If you haven’t been to a party or event at Encore yet, here are a few reasons why you should, from those who have.

“From the moment we stepped inside the newly renovated Encore Event Center, we knew this Cleveland landmark had been brought back to life in the best way possible,” says Scott Terranova.

“The team has done an incredible job of keeping its rich history and timeless charm while updating every room with fresh, modern décor and a beautiful new feel. One of the biggest highlights is the brand-new private courtyard, one of a kind in Northeast Ohio. Perfectly designed for ceremonies and bridal party portraits, this outdoor oasis features a stunning gazebo, elegant fire and water features, and impeccably manicured, life-like turf that looks flawless year-round.”

Ellen Chaney held an event here in March for more than 500 guests. She describes it as, “…perfection! The space, the staff, the food and the charcuterie tables are actually still being talked about. Even last-minute changes and requests were handled immediately. If you’re looking for a great place to hold an event, look no further!”

No matter the occasion, every thoughtfully planned event here deserves its own standing ovation—and even an encore.
