Is there a remodeling project on your list of resolutions for 2025? Sometimes getting started is the hardest part. David Brown, owner of David Brown Construction has worked as a carpenter and contractor since 1978. Today, a general contractor and owner of the company that bears his name, David has taken everything he’s learned over the years and boiled it down to a simple formula that has proven very successful.

“Outstanding quality work at competitive pricing,” David says. “I know it sounds like a commercial, but it’s true. We provide real value because we offer the highest-quality construction and workmanship using quality products and finishes at fair, competitive prices.”

David began his construction career purely by accident when his father, a contractor himself, asked for help while David was home from college.

“I was heading toward a very different career when my father asked me to take a quarter off from school and help him out,” David says. “I never looked back. I realized that I loved working with my hands.”

David says there are many cheaper contractors out there who promise the world but can’t deliver. He made a conscious decision not to compete with them.

“Growing up around my father’s business and spending more than 40 years in the industry has given me a deep understanding of the construction and remodeling process from every angle,” David says. “That puts us at an advantage. I know the importance of having knowledgeable, experienced tradespeople on jobs. We have full-time carpenters, for example, who have 20, even 30 years of experience under their belts. This is a huge asset.”

Looking back on his career to when he was in his 20s, 30s and even 40s, David jokes there are a lot more reasons to hire him now.

“That’s because of our staff, tradespeople and the quality of work they do,” David says. “It’s not just me operating out of the glove box of my pickup truck anymore.”

If you’re thinking about a home renovation project, David invites you to visit his showroom. Samples of tile, flooring, countertops and all the finishes for your kitchen or bath renovation and more can be found at Projects by DBC, along with examples of the quality construction and workmanship you can expect on your project.

Visit the David Brown Construction booth (#500) at the Cleveland Home + Remodeling Expo at the I-X Center, March 21-23. Located directly across from the food court, the booth will showcase cabinets, countertops, flooring, and tile.

“Everything in the showroom, even the moldings, was installed by us. You’ll see and touch the quality of work we do and how it might look in your home,” David says. “Our designer helps with ideas for everything from cabinets and countertops to flooring and tile. And we only carry the good stuff.”

Your project with David Brown Construction starts with a showroom visit or a phone call to discuss the scope of the project, followed by a site visit by a team member and possibly our designer if you need design help or suggestions to discuss a detailed plan.

“The showroom is a great way to see what’s available and our designer helps narrow down the choices,” David says. “We get as much information from you as possible before we start a project.”

David Brown Construction keeps up with the latest design trends and offers choices and opportunities to be trendy and classic.

“We’ll often suggest taking standard materials but adding a twist, like using very large tiles or changing the patterns for a unique look,” David says. “Our designer has a degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art and loves to get creative.”

Once the designer has a plan, you receive a photo book of what you can expect based on the choices you have made and a quote for the job. Once the project is approved, construction can begin.

“If you’re thinking about entertaining on a new deck for the summer, call now,” David says. “The sooner we can get started, the sooner you’ll be enjoying your new space.”
