Celebrating culture, unity and community

Enjoy culture, cuisine and community at the Cleveland Asian Festival, where AsiaTown comes alive with vibrant performances, authentic flavors and interactive experiences.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

More than just a weekend event, the Cleveland Asian Festival is driven by a mission to strengthen the identity of AsiaTown, support its economic growth, educate the public about Asian cultures and traditions, and unite the Greater Cleveland Asian community.

Each May, the Cleveland Asian Festival transforms the city’s AsiaTown neighborhood into a vibrant celebration of culture, community and cuisine. Organized by the community for the community, this beloved grassroots event highlights the richness and diversity of Asian cultures while honoring Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Set for May 16—17, 2026, 11a.m. to 7 p.m., the 17th annual festival returns the weekend before Memorial Day, offering two full days of immersive experiences. From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed into a lively atmosphere filled with music, movement and mouthwatering aromas.

Live Cultural Performances

At the heart of the festival are two outdoor stages featuring continuous live entertainment. Cultural performances and demonstrations showcase traditions from across Asia, while modern acts bring a contemporary twist. One of the most anticipated highlights is the Asian-Pop Dance Cover Competition, whendance crews take the stage on Sunday to perform high-energy routines inspired by today’s biggest hits. With cash prizes on the line, the competition delivers both excitement and impressive talent.

Fashion also takes center stage during the “Colors of Asia” Fashion Exhibition. Held on the Lantern Stage, this visually stunning showcase features traditional attire representing a wide range of Asian cultures. Flowing fabrics, intricate embroidery and bold patterns tell stories of heritage and identity, creating a runway experience that is as meaningful as it is beautiful.

Savor the Flavors of Asia

Of course, no visit to the Cleveland Asian Festival would be complete without indulging in the incredible food offerings. With more than 30 local restaurants and food trucks participating, guests can sample a wide variety of authentic and creative dishes. The popular Best in Food competition invites attendees to do more than just eat—they can help crown the festival’s Cuisine Champion. Select vendors create exclusive dishes for the event, and festivalgoers vote for their favorites, while a panel of judges awards top honors during a live tasting on stage.

Beyond the food and performances, the festival offers something for all ages. The World Marketplace features more than 100 vendors and exhibitors, offering everything from handmade goods to cultural items. Families can enjoy free games and activities, while the Health Pavilion provides complimentary health screenings, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to community well-being.

Other Fun Activities

Additional attractions include the always-entertaining egg roll eating contest, a cosplay showcase filled with creativity, and an interactive trivia game show that puts attendees’ knowledge to the test. Throughout the weekend, friendly mascots and engaging activities create a welcoming, inclusive environment.

More than just a weekend event, the Cleveland Asian Festival is driven by a mission to strengthen the identity of AsiaTown, support its economic growth, educate the public about Asian cultures and traditions, and unite the Greater Cleveland Asian community. It’s a celebration that reflects the evolving story of the region—one rooted in heritage, shared experiences and a spirit of togetherness.

Whether you’re a foodie, a culture enthusiast or simply looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend a spring weekend, the Cleveland Asian Festival offers an unforgettable experience that continues to grow year after year.
