Caring for the whole family
Fehring Family Dentistry is widely known for its high-tech equipment and expertise, but for Dr. Ian Fehring, caring for patients like family is the best part of the job.

Dr. Ian Fehring has built a dental practice that is welcoming and comfortable. Most of the new patients are from word of mouth. One big reason is, your time is respected: In about two hours and just one appointment, Dr. Ian Fehring can fabricate beautiful, natural-looking teeth. No more need for a temporary crown, two visits and weeks of healing like with conventional crowns.
According to the American Dental Association, roughly 35% of Americans do not visit the dentist annually.
What makes this stat particularly frightening is the many costly and painful things like infection, tooth loss and jaw and bite issues that are easily preventable.
If you’re within that percentage, or maybe you already have a dentist but aren’t super happy with the level of care, now’s the time to consider Fehring Family Dentistry. The practice has earned a name for itself through high-tech treatment and friendly, “like-family” care.
“Since I own the practice, I get to spend as much time chatting with patients as I like,” says Founder Dr. Ian Fehring. “No one is a number here and we never rush. We know your name when you walk through the door and welcome you graciously. It means a lot to us that most of our new patients come from word of mouth and that all our reviews are five-star.”
Since the practice is located in what was once a family home, the space is cozy and welcoming.
Form Meets Function
“When mapping out a treatment plan, I look for the most efficient path to restoring teeth to their top-functioning, best-looking potential,” he says. “With a recent 60-something patient, we took her from before to after by replacing older teeth that were stained and damaged with new crowns and then whitening. It’s a best-case form-meets-function outcome. She can more confidently bite and chew and feels more confident with a brighter, whiter smile. It’s never too late to love your smile. Seeing patients get a boost in their lives is my favorite part of the job.”
Precision Vision, Better Diagnostics
“Since I’ve been in practice for 17 years, the advancements in imaging technology have been amazing,” he says. “With new digital 3D imaging, we can see things about 10 times better than before. This allows us to detect even the smallest abnormalities and provide precise diagnostics and treatment outcomes.”
The improved perspective affects time and convenience, which are integral to the overall patient experience.
“It’s important to me to be able to offer same-day crowns,” he says, noting that he mills the restorations himself instead of sending them out to a lab. “They are a game-changer.”
In about two hours and one appointment, he can fabricate beautiful, natural-looking teeth. No more need for a temporary crown, two visits and weeks of healing like with conventional crowns.
To offer additional minimally invasive procedures like gum contouring and periodontal therapies, he has also invested in a soft tissue laser, which causes less damage and promotes faster healing.
Mission Perfection
Through SureSmile clear aligner therapy (invisible braces), Dr. Fehring can easily correct anything holding you back from that perfect, dazzling smile.
“As an alternative to traditional braces, this treatment is all upside: fewer appointments, a shorter length of treatment time (around 6-18 months), comfort and esthetics since they’re nearly invisible,” he says. “This treatment is usually covered under major insurances. People are often surprised to hear that most of my clear aligner patients are between 30-60 years old. Maybe they had braces when they were young and things shifted back, or maybe they’ve always had an issue with the optics of their smile and want to do something for themselves and fix it.”
He adds that a nice perk of treatment is the final tray a patient wears comes with a whitening gel, so the end result is a bright white, dazzling smile.
In addition to general dentistry, additional specialties Dr. Fehring has studied include oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, dental implants and prosthodontics.
