Unique Live Edge Tables, where fallen timber becomes stunning home décor.

From forest to finished heirloom, this is craftsmanship you can feel. At Unique Live Edge Tables, custom furniture comes to life through hands-on artistry, rare woods, and a truly personal experience. Find out more on how to get a custom piece designed just for you.

It’s difficult to discern quality from an online photo. For everyday household items and common décor, online shopping has changed our lives. Just press a few buttons and the necessities arrive at your doorstep within hours.

But if you’re looking for something custom made—and truly special—it’s all about the experience. If you get the chance to work directly with the artist, that’s a bonus, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Unique Live Edge Tables

A lifelong logger, John Fisher developed his craftsmanship through years of hands-on experience in the family logging business. Alongside his brother Marvin, he began exploring the creative potential of the large wood pieces that were part of their daily work, turning industry knowledge into skilled artistry.

“We started making live edge tables,” John says. “After a few years demand was high and we knew this was something special.”

With a focus on custom design and craftsmanship, John creates handcrafted live edge furniture and home décor alongside his brother Marvin and craftsman Aiden Miller. Their Chesterland showroom features one-of-a-kind pieces designed and built with care and intention.

“At Unique Live Edge, we have a variety of existing tables. If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, let’s talk about it and see how we can create your dream piece,” John suggests.

John did just that for Jessica Ricard, who was looking for something very specific.

“John created a 13-foot-long bar top along with four floating shelves,” Jessica says. “He was able to create them from the same tree. His communication is great and his creativity is next level. He went above and beyond to provide us with a product that met our expectations.”

Bring your measurements like Jessica did, photos, drawings or simply your imagination, and John will create a one-of-a-kind piece that fits your home and personality.

“That’s my favorite part about live edge, the fact that no two pieces are ever the same because no two trees are the same,” John says. “It’s as custom as you can get.”

John has a wide range of slabs to see and touch in maple, walnut, hickory, cherry and white oak along with more rarer species including California redwood.

“Live edge has grown in popularity for its aesthetic and natural beauty,” John says. “Different finishes or table leg styles allow live edge products to fit seamlessly into your home, whether your style is traditional, modern farmhouse, rustic cottage or contemporary. Live edge provides a durable, sustainable heirloom that will last for generations.”

John’s talent doesn’t end with tables. Think bookcases, shelving, lighting fixtures, clocks, charcuterie boards, beds, desks and pet beds. His handcrafted pens, ice cream scoops and bottle openers make great gifts.

“If you love a table here but the size isn’t right, we can usually cut it down for you and change the base. Just ask,” John smiles.

John can also add color to your table using resin to fill holes or cracks in the wood to smooth the surface. The options are endless. Visit Unique Live Edge to see and touch the possibilities.

Visit Unique Live Edge Tables booth and meet John at the 2026 Geauga Home & Garden Show, Friday & Saturday, March 27 & 28, at Heritage Marketplace in Middlefield.
