From its sophisticated bar to its extensive wine collection, CRU Uncorked makes every visit an occasion.

Picture yourself manor-born, escaping the winter chill into a French countryside chateau, where roaring stone fireplaces, sumptuous furnishings and Old-World charm invite you to linger.

Welcome to CRU Uncorked, an enchanting Moreland Hills fine wine and dining destination. where refinement is an art form and understated luxury reigns.

Amid stately artwork and period antiques, CRU evokes the gracious hospitality of another era. President Chris Oppewall says generously spaced dining tables, plush carpeting and heated floors encourage guests to slow down and savor the experience.

Beyond wrought-iron gates and a stacked-stone passageway from the formal dining rooms, a rustic bar beckons with rough-hewn reclaimed wood and plush leather seating.

Whether you are wine-curious or a seasoned aficionado, CRU’s selection of more than 15,000 bottles offers endless discovery, guided by sommelier Andrew Albert, whose passion is matched by his approachable manner.

The cuisine is equally transporting. Favorites include Smoked Lavender Cured Duck Breast with pretzel, Concord grape mustard, rye spätzle, kohlrabi and cheddar, and Venison Mosaic, accompanied by miso roasted cabbage, treacle tart, ginger mascarpone and celery root.

“We’re excited to expand our seasonal tasting menu, a 10-course deep dive into inspired dishes brought together by Chef Sam Lesniak and his talented team,” says Chris. “It’s different every night, depending on the ingredients we curate. It could be white truffles from Italy one evening, pink rose apples from Washington state the next.”

Each course receives the ideal wine pairing, creating a leisurely two- to three-hour culinary journey, which is especially popular with adventurous couples and small parties.

And thanks to the restaurant’s on-site greenhouse, diners savor the freshest ingredients all year long.

CRU’s celebrated wine events offer another dimension of discovery. This fall its sommeliers challenged Google Gemini AI to a blind wine pairing competition. Human intuition prevailed—by a single vote.
