Bringing people together

Impact Home Remodeling creates spaces that bring people together.

The right space can bring people together, during holiday time and beyond. Impact Home Remodeling specializes in creating spaces that do exactly that.

Homeowners are reminded every holiday just how much living truly happens in the kitchen. It’s the room where conversations linger long after dinner is done, where cookie baking marathons unfold, and where families instinctively gather—holiday or not.

For Joe and Kristen Chiera, co-owners of Impact Home Remodeling, those moments are the inspiration for their work. Their own kitchen is the hub of their home, where countless family memories are made and where they are continually reminded why thoughtful design matters. The right space brings people together.

That philosophy guides every project the couple takes on. As a husband-and-wife team, they blend technical expertise with a family-first design perspective. From the initial conversation to the final reveal, their process is intentionally collaborative.

Designing Kitchens with Intention

Impact Home Remodeling approaches each kitchen as more than a collection of cabinets and countertops. The focus is on flow, function and the way a space supports real life.

“We both walk through a client’s space imagining how it will feel day to day,” says Kristen, noting they bring both a male and female perspective to every design. “We think about where people gather, how they cook, and how they entertain. Those details matter.”

“Every family uses their kitchen differently,” Joe adds. “Some want a cozy, cottage feel while others love a clean, modern look, but everybody wants a layout that actually works for the way they live.”

That may mean moving walls to create an open gathering space, adding a hidden pantry for extra storage, or designing an oversized island perfect for homework and holiday baking. Whatever the style, the goal is the same. A home that feels intuitive.

While the Impact team is well known for custom kitchens, its expertise extends throughout the home. Bathrooms become spa-level retreats, basements transform into family hangouts, and additions help homeowners reconfigure their spaces without needing to move.

Adding More Gathering Spaces

If you find yourself wishing for more room when hosting family and friends during the holidays, you’re not alone. One of the easiest ways to add more usable space to your home—sometimes even doubling your square footage—is to finish the basement.

Impact has been remodeling basements that are first-floor worthy, with beautiful flooring, lighting and design elements. Whether you want to add a family room, kid’s playroom, sports bar, movie theater or home gym, Impact can transform the basement into a true extension of your home.

“A basement can be so versatile. We have been adding home gyms in basements, home offices and even second kitchens for those using the lower level for entertaining,” Joe says. “We can help add more space and a better flow to anywhere in the home.”

The company also helps extend living spaces outdoors.

With a dedicated landscaping division, Impact Landscaping designs and installs patios, pools, hardscapes, trees and shrubs, offering a seamless approach that ties the whole property together.

What sets the company apart is its ability to integrate indoor comfort with outdoor lifestyle, creating spaces that feel connected, cohesive and ready for year-round enjoyment.

“We can take care of anything related to your home,” Joe says. “Whether you want to remodel your kitchen, transform your bathroom, finish your basement, build a patio, add a backyard pool, or spruce up your landscaping, we can do it all.”

Local Roots, Family Values

Since opening its doors in 1997, Impact Home Remodeling has become a trusted name across Northeast Ohio. Clients appreciate the communication, craftsmanship and hands-on involvement that come with a family-run business.

“We treat every home like it’s our own,” Kristen says. “We want our clients to feel the same comfort, connection and joy in their spaces that we feel in ours.”

At its core, the Impact mission is about more than remodeling. It’s about creating homes where memories take shape—holiday after holiday, year after year.
