Bathroom style guide

Kiba Studios offers these getting-started tips for planning a dreamy new bathroom.

Kiba Studios, housed within MDG Flooring America, highlights an elevated remodeling experience. In addition to offering premium finishes, the company also sells and installs semi-custom cabinetry.

With the festive season fast approaching, it’s not just your holiday menu that needs preparation.

As guests gather and put your bathroom to the test, it’s the perfect time to envision a more inviting, efficiently designed space—one that will make hosting easier and more enjoyable when the next holiday season rolls around.

Christie Jackson, general manager at Kiba Studios, agrees.

“It’s the ideal moment to assess your space—whether you need more storage or to open things up,” she says. “As you entertain, consider the changes you need to create a more functional, welcoming space. A fresh renovation may be the perfect way to start the new year.”

Like Rudolph’s red nose guiding Santa’s sleigh, Christie and her team at Kiba Studios—nestled inside MDG Flooring America in Medina—are ready to light the way. They’re prepared to spotlight your bathroom’s style and ease of use and highlight where it might fall short this year through a seamless, collaborative design process.

“We’ll guide you through every detail—from selecting cabinetry, countertops, sinks and showers to choosing mirrors, lighting, fixtures and hardware,” Christie explains. “We even offer accent pieces like lamps and decorative lighting to add the perfect finishing touches to your space. Pull-out shelves are great for maximizing storage. Everything slides out easily, so you—or any of your guests—won’t have to be scrounging around.”

Christie emphasizes the importance of starting renovation plans now for the new year.

“It’s essential to begin planning early,” she says. “With so many options to explore, narrowing down your preferences, understanding pricing and scheduling are crucial for ensuring a smoother process.”

Getting ahead of the project timeline is a big one, especially when factoring in materials and products that may take time to arrive. A bit of preparation now can lead to a happier new year.

“Everything we feature is semi-custom, made to order,” Christie notes. “Depending on the line, delivery can take anywhere from four to 12 weeks.”

Much like Santa with his list, Kiba Studios checks every order twice to ensure everything is just right.

“We thoroughly inspect materials and any products for accuracy and quality,” Christie says. “Occasionally we find flaws. When that happens, we order replacements to ensure everything meets our high standards.”

Kiba Studios partners with brands like Cambria, Fieldstone, Kemper, James Martin, Moen, Hanstone and Wolf to offer a blend of form and function the names are known for.

The opportunities for reimagining your bathroom are boundless. However, current design trends tilt toward timeless elegance, with whites and grays accented by greens and blues.

“We’re seeing a lot of homeowners swapping out old oak cabinets for painted ones—whether it’s white, gray or blue,” Christie says. “Pairing those with lighter floors can completely transform a bathroom. That simple change can make the entire space feel brand new.”

Starting a bathroom renovation now is like giving yourself a gift this holiday season, knowing you’ll have it beautifully wrapped up ahead of schedule—ready for the next holiday season.

“Pay attention to your space over the hustle and bustle of the holidays,” Christie advises. “The earlier you start, the more time you have to refine your choices and ensure you get everything you want, so it all comes together perfectly.”
