Reinventing the flooring experience

With an expanded showroom and fresh dedication to offering customization and convenience, Monarch Carpet One offers auxiliary products to enhance its flooring options.

With a revitalized showroom, an expanded product range, and a renewed commitment to the community, Monarch Carpet One is poised to continue its legacy as a trusted partner for homeowners undertaking renovations.

Monarch Carpet One isn’t just covering floors. It’s branching out into tile backsplashes, showers and countertops, laying the groundwork for growth as it embarks on its next 50 years in Brunswick.

With a revitalized showroom, an expanded product range, and a renewed commitment to the community, General Sales Manager Scott Powers believes Monarch is poised to continue its legacy as a trusted partner for homeowners undertaking renovations.

When Monarch’s new owners took the reins in January, they saw an opportunity to refresh the business while honoring its enduring reputation.

“It was a logical course,” Scott says. “Expanding the showroom alongside our product range created excellent synergy. It gives customers the convenience of buying everything in one place. No more running here for one thing and there for another.”

This one-stop shop approach helps Monarch streamline the remodeling process for customers and strives for a seamless experience from selection to installation.

The company reintroduced tile and custom showers while adding countertops and a line of cabinets to its offerings, complementing its already extensive and updated selection of carpeting, hardwood, LVT and LVP (luxury vinyl tile and plank), as well as tile and laminate flooring.

“If you’re doing a refresh of your floors, it kind of makes sense that you’re going to maybe do countertops or backsplashes,” Scott says. “We can pretty much do anything, including custom tile showers, and we have the team to do it.”

Adding tile backsplashes, showers and countertops underscores Monarch’s dedication to offering comprehensive solutions for home renovations. These products are sourced from well-known manufacturers to ensure durability, style and compatibility with existing flooring options. Whether customers seek a sleek, modern design or a more traditional look, Monarch can provide tailored options to suit every preference.

Monarch held its grand re-opening on September 1, reestablishing and solidifying its position in Brunswick and beyond as the premier destination for flooring for many. By broadening its product range, the company is evolving beyond a flooring store to become a comprehensive remodeling destination, redefining its role for a new era.

Building on a solid foundation, the new owners focused on refreshing the business to serve today’s customers. The showroom received a complete makeover designed to highlight Monarch’s expanded product lines and customer-focused approach.

“Customers are stunned by how much has changed in just a year,” Scott says.

The renovation doubled the showroom’s square footage, adding approximately 1,100 square feet while preserving the welcoming atmosphere customers have come to expect over the last half-century.

“We wanted to avoid feeling like a warehouse,” Scott explains. “The goal was to offer a wider selection of products without making it feel overwhelming, keeping that intimate, approachable store feel.”

This customer-focused approach goes beyond the showroom design. It’s woven into every interaction.

“We want it to feel like you’re going to your best friend’s house to pick out stuff, not like you’re being sold or pushed into a more expensive product,” Scott emphasizes. “We’re here to help you stay within your budget and guide you through the process.”

Monarch has a decades-long commitment to Brunswick that extends beyond the showroom, with active participation in charitable initiatives, including Toys for Tots and the Brunswick Food Pantry and sponsorship of local sports teams.

“We’re continuing that long tradition of community stewardship,” Scott says.

Fifty years strong, Monarch remains a cornerstone of the community, ready to inspire the next generation of homeowners. Far from slowing down, it’s reinventing what flooring means in Brunswick.
