MDG has arrived!

With the opening of a new showroom on the West Side, North Olmsted residents can experience the same quality and service MDG Flooring America offers closer to home.

MDG’s Room Visualizer tool is a high-tech, interactive flooring design journey.

For nearly 25 years, Northeast Ohio homeowners have turned to MDG Flooring America to transform their kitchens, revamp their baths and explore the family-operated showroom’s extensive selection of flooring—from plush carpets and timeless hardwoods to sleek LVT and resilient tile. Now, with the opening of a new showroom on the West Side, North Olmsted residents can experience the same quality and service closer to home.

Located directly across from Great Northern Mall, the new showroom feels like a homecoming for MDG’s Director of Marketing Christina Walbolt and General Manager Jake Patay.

“We grew up in North Olmsted, so this really feels like coming home,” Christina says.

“MDG’s strong community ties have been a cornerstone of its success in Medina, and that same commitment to connection is already making an impact in North Olmsted. The company joined the local chamber of commerce and recently wrapped up a Toys for Tots drive as part of its Give Back and Save initiative, which offers discounts for supporting local nonprofits.

“It’s not just about opening a store. It’s about connecting with the people here and being part of the neighborhood,” Jake adds.

The new showroom reflects the quality and range of offerings at MDG’s Medina location, while highlighting what sets MDG apart: a personal, community-focused approach supported by the buying power of a national cooperative.

Through its affiliation with Flooring America—a network of more than 500 stores nationwide—MDG provides an extensive selection of products at competitive prices. In an era dominated by big box stores and online shopping, MDG’s two locations offer personalized service and local expertise.

Just like in Medina, Christina reveals the new showroom will also house Kiba Studios. Soon, the North Olmsted location will offer everything from custom showers and tile backsplashes to complete kitchen and bath remodels, complementing its extensive selection of carpeting, hardwood, luxury vinyl tile and plank, as well as tile and laminate flooring available to customers now.

“It’s exciting to provide a one-stop shop for homeowners,” Christina says.

At the same time, the North Olmsted showroom stands apart with in-house design expertise from Cara McClain, a North Olmsted local with more than 20 years of professional experience. Cara brings a unique blend of creativity and technical knowledge to the team.

“Cara is a tremendous asset,” Christina says. “She effortlessly balances style and practicality, tailoring designs to all types of budgets.”

As a professional interior designer, Cara considers traffic flow, functionality and optimal furniture and fixture arrangements while specializing in selecting colors, materials and finishes.

“We can help with everything from color coordination to finding the perfect products for your home,” Cara says, noting a noticeable shift in flooring trends, with lighter wood finishes like white oak and other pale hues gaining popularity.

These brighter, natural tones are replacing darker shades and grays, reflecting a broader move toward warm, open and inviting spaces.

To assist homeowners in visualizing their options, MDG’s Room Visualizer tool on the company’s website allows users to upload photos of their space and explore design possibilities—a perfect starting point before visiting the showroom.

Jake and Cara are the welcoming faces of the showroom.

“When you walk in, you’re greeted by people who know the community because this is our home, too,” Christina says.
