Designer impact
Whether crafting the perfect powder room or carving out a man cave, Impact Home Remodeling approaches every project with thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship.

For this Broadview Heights basement, the homeowners envisioned a multifunctional gathering space where they could entertain friends or simply unwind. Impact Home Remodeling delivered a design that balances comfort, style and tons of personality.
With a distinctive design flair, Impact Home Remodeling creates spaces that are not just beautiful but are also highly functional. Nowhere is that more apparent than the basement.
“Finishing your basement is one of the most effective ways to add usable space to a home, sometimes even doubling its square footage,” says Joe Chiera, who, along with his wife Kristen, owns Impact Home Remodeling.
Over the years, the company has transformed countless basements into first floor-worthy living areas. These spaces range from children’s playrooms to sports bars, home theaters, gyms and large gathering areas often complete with custom kitchens and bathrooms.
“An unfinished basement is a blank canvas,” Kristen says. “You can design it entirely around your lifestyle.”
Multifunctional Space for Entertaining
For the Broadview Heights basement seen above, the homeowners envisioned a multifunctional gathering space where they could entertain friends or simply unwind. Impact delivered a design that balances comfort, style and tons of personality.
At one end of the room is a bar flanked by a brick wall and wood shelves that display bourbon bottles and other favorite spirits. The bar area flows seamlessly into a TV room with comfy couches, creating an ideal setup for game nights, movie nights or casual get-togethers.
The homeowners were not afraid to go dark—a choice that gives the space its moody, elevated feel. Wainscoted walls painted a rich green add depth, while leather barstools, chairs and couches bring warmth and sophistication.
From the luxury vinyl tile flooring that mimics natural wood planks to the intricate tile pattern behind the bar—which repeats in the powder room—every detail was chosen to enhance the basement’s fun, cohesive vibe.
“The ceilings were not extra tall, so we opted to paint the ceiling black as framing instead of drywalling, which would have made them feel lower,” Joe says. “We get creative with every design, no matter the size or height of the space.”
At roughly 1,000 square feet, this basement is proof that thoughtful design can transition any space—regardless of limitations—into something both stylish and functional.
Bathrooms in All Sizes
From compact powder rooms to spa-like primary bathrooms, Impact Home Remodeling brings the same level of creativity and workmanship to every project.
For this recent remodeling project, the crew built a half bath in the basement that complements the rest of the downstairs design while standing out on its own.
Bathroom design is deeply personal, but homeowners continue to gravitate toward natural materials such as stone, marble and wood. Smaller bathrooms in particular offer the perfect opportunity to experiment with bold choices.
“We have been color drenching bathrooms in dark, moody hues, or tiling walls from floor to ceiling to create a dramatic look,” Kristen says. “Adding a bold, patterned floor tile can actually make a small bathroom feel bigger.”
By managing the entire process—from design through construction—Impact Home Remodeling ensures a seamless experience and results homeowners can enjoy for years to come. No matter the scope, the focus remains the same: thoughtful design, quality workmanship and spaces that truly feel like home.
