The grandeur of the season
The Peters Professional Landscaping garden center is packed with all things fall décor, and if retooling your own great outdoors is top of mind, it’s got proven stock, in stock, that’s grown to last.

The expansive Peters garden center has become a destination for homeowners seeking something beyond the typical big-box store selection.
There are few places on Earth that enjoy a more picturesque fall than Northeast Ohio. And few garden centers that capture the rustic spirit of the season better than the folks at Peters Professional Landscaping. From vibrant mums and a kaleidoscope of colorful asters to loads of pumpkins, cornstalks, straw bales, gourds and locally grown nursery stock, the expanded garden center is stocked to the hilt and ready to help bring a sense of autumn to your home.
“This is one of my favorite times of year,” says Chris Peters, who founded the business back in 1992. “Change is the constant of the season, and our customers know they can find everything they need to freshen up their outdoors and indoors here. Some opt for a classic, rich-toned harvest look, while others go for a more modern effect with all-white or all-black pumpkins.”
The expansive garden center has become a destination for homeowners seeking something beyond the typical big-box store selection. Chris hand-selects Ohio-grown plant material and admits to being choosey. He only goes with the best of the best varieties that thrive in our often-tricky climate.
“You may save a little initially with cheaper stock, but it might not make it to next year and you’ll just have to replace it,” he says. “We only bring in material that will thrive and act as an asset to your long-term landscaping aesthetic goals. Also, we take the time to educate customers about what works best in our climate. Whether they plant things themselves or have us do the installation, we’re here to help.”
This year, Chris says hydrangeas are one of the most popular low-maintenance choices, in both shrubs and tree varieties.
“The conditions have been just right for them to bloom the biggest and longest I’ve seen in many years,” he says, adding the hydrangeas in his own landscaping at home have exploded with color all summer.
Best Seat in the House
Mid- to late September is a magical time in the CLE, with the Browns and the Guardians seasons overlapping. Chris says there’s still time to transform your outdoor living spaces to host neighborhood watch parties.
“We can build outdoor living, dining and spectating spaces tailor-made to those who love to entertain,” he says. “Customers are asking for patios and pavilions, along with inflatable projection screens to catch all the games.”
And if you’re considering adding plant material to your home’s exterior, Chris says there’s no better time than September and October.
“Warm days, cool nights and heavy morning dew create the perfect growing conditions,” he explains. “The roots have time to establish themselves before cold weather hits, which gives things a great start heading into winter.”
Speaking of Winter
While homeowners are relishing the grandeur of fall, Peters is already preparing for the next season.
“We specialize in comprehensive snow and ice management services, especially for commercial facilities, small businesses and homeowners’ associations,” says Chris. “We plow snow, remove it, apply salt and can perform pre-treatment service before a storm arrives.”
He says weather forecasters are predicting the potential effects of a strong El Niño pattern this winter could mean wetter, heavier snowfall, which is physically more demanding to remove. Instead of spending hours straining your back behind a shovel or snowblower, property owners can rely on Peters to manage it. They work under contract or via individual services.

Pool Plan Now, Save Later
If elevating your backyard with a pool installation is part of your long-term dream, waiting until next spring to start planning could cost you time and money.
“Since becoming a dealer and distributor for Indiana-based River Pools earlier this year, the demand has surged significantly,” says Chris Peters of Peters Professional Landscaping. “We installed more pools this summer than we have in the past several years put together, and we are booking jobs into 2027 and 2028.”
Planning ahead allows homeowners to establish realistic budgets, evaluate design options and lock in pricing on pools before potential future cost increases take effect. Putting down a deposit and securing your project early can provide peace of mind.
“Our partnership with River Pools has expanded design possibilities,” he adds. “Homeowners can choose from more than 40 pool sizes and styles while benefiting from direct-buy pricing and shorter lead times. Because we manage the design, delivery and installation process, as well as landscaping and hardscaping to surround any pool, customers enjoy a streamlined experience from start to finish.”
This summer, Chris says that families were looking for customized pools that maximized usable space to serve how they want to chill out, including spas, splash pads, integrated ledges and deep-end bench seating.

Peters Professional Landscaping’s partenership with River Pools has expanded the design possibilities and you can choose from more than 40 pool sizes and styles.
