Here’s how Impact Home Remodeling brought two area homes into the here and now.

Take, for instance, the Akron kitchen remodel pictured on the cover. The homeowners raised their children in the house and, now that their family has grown to include grandchildren, wanted to make it more welcoming for the family when they come to visit.
“Though we did not change the footprint, we reconfigured the space to make it seem bigger, including adding a new sliding patio door,” Joe says.
A new expansive window over the sink floods the kitchen with daylight, while new lighting above the dining table and in the built-in display cabinets make the kitchen very bright and warm.
Considered the heart of the home, the kitchen is one of the best returns on investment when it comes to remodeling—both in day-to-day enjoyment and resale value.
“There are many design options we can show you, or you can bring us your ideas, and we will bring them to life,” Kristen says.

And for these homeowners, making the house work better didn’t stop in the kitchen. Impact Home Remodeling also turned its attention to the bathroom. The team updated the couple’s bathroom with a curbless walk-in shower designed for greater comfort and accessibility in the years ahead.
Creating More Room
Not every homeowner looking to remodel has been in their home for decades, as many who build a new home want to finish their basement soon after they move in.
That was the case for one Medina homeowner who had previously worked with Impact Landscaping to install their lawn after they moved in and now turned to the company’s remodeling division to finish their basement.
“This homeowner had built a new home and a year later wanted to add more livable space, so we finished the basement to include a large family room area with a bar, bedroom and bathroom,” Joe says. “We added different design elements, like a wood feature ceiling, to define the space and add interest, to create a basement that is first-floor worthy.”
The finished lower level feels like a natural extension of the home, rather than an afterthought. In addition to the main living area, Impact also added a spacious bathroom with a large walk-in shower finished with beautiful white tile, champagne gold fixtures and warm wood cabinets—creating a calming, spa-like feeling.
“An unfinished basement is a blank canvas,” Kristen says. “We can design it entirely around your lifestyle. Lately we’ve seen a shift toward health and wellness, as homeowners are asking for home gyms, saunas and even cold plunge tubs.”
