This wakeup call of a quote should resonate with anyone age 40 on up who has noticed those first few aches and pains, lags in energy, trouble sleeping and tightening waistbands. Aging isn’t pretty. But the takeaway keyword of the quote isn’t actually the carrot or the stick—wellness or illness—it’s “time.”
Those who have found success in achieving their optimal wellness aren’t more or less busy than anyone else, they’re just better at mastering their time and making it work for them.
Meet Maureen Intihar
Between driving her 12-year-old son to practice for football, basketball and lacrosse, and working as a behavioral analyst specializing in autism, this busy mom is constantly on the go.
Five years ago, when her older child, now a college student, was still in high school and she was even more hectic, she decided it was time to make strength training a priority.
“Although I’d stayed active over the years with yoga, tennis and pickleball, there was no muscle-building component to my efforts,” she says. “Since I wouldn’t really know where to start with this, I researched local personal trainers and saw that MaxStrength Fitness had the most enthusiastic ratings and reviews. What appealed to me was that people raved about the results in only two 20-minute sessions per week. It seemed too good to be true but ended up being exactly what was promised.”
Maureen says that professional guidance is one of the contributors to her strength gains.
“I love that I don’t even have to think about it. I just show up and my trainer Staci is there, ready to tell me which movements to work on that day,” she says. “We always cycle through different exercises, and she has a good feel for how to push me to the limit, which I wouldn’t do on my own.”
Noticing the positive impact MSF had on her life, her husband Brian joined, too.
“We both feel stronger than ever and better able to keep up with our busy schedules,” she adds. “Our trainers make it easy to keep up the consistency when you appreciate the benefits.”
Maureen turns 50 next month and reports that making time for her wellness has made her future much brighter.
