What’s your reason for renovating your kitchen? Is it practical? Aesthetic? Emotional? Most home renovations, whether large or small, are motivated by some combination of these. No matter what the reason, the sticker shock of cabinet replacement can often be a stumbling block and bring your dream of an updated kitchen to a screeching halt.

What if I told you that you can have that updated kitchen for a fraction of the cost through the professional cabinet painting process offered by Chagrin Home Improvements?

“There are many reasons why people renovate, and also why they don’t,” owner Joe Jacobs says. “The biggest reason they don’t is cost. The cost of new cabinets is a large percentage of any kitchen renovation, if not the largest. People think, ‘why bother if we can’t afford to change the cabinets?’ A professional cabinet painting job by our team is a fraction of the cost of replacement and will revitalize those cabinets to like-new condition and give you the updated look you want.”

Joe says that new cabinets, especially custom or semi-custom are expensive alone, but when you add the labor, demolition and installation costs, they’re downright prohibitive. Tearing out cabinets can also cause a ripple effect you may not have anticipated.

“Cabinet replacement can cause additional issues you never bargained for, like new tile, appliances, flooring replacement, potential plumbing and electrical work and more,” Joe says. “If you’ve done any renovating before and want to avoid a full kitchen remodel and the chaos that goes with it, a professional cabinet painting by Chagrin Home Improvements is for you.”

The efficient process takes five days. You’ll have the use of your kitchen the entire time and Joe promises minimal dust and disruption to your home.

“If your existing cabinets are structurally sound, well laid out and still functional but need an aesthetic upgrade, painting just makes sense,” Joe says. “Why replace something that isn’t broken?”

And if you’re still not convinced, painting allows for complete creative control in terms of choosing a unique color or finish along with replacing hardware, resulting in a space that feels just like you.

“Some customers see cabinet painting as a temporary refresh while they save for a full renovation, or others who support an eco-conscious lifestyle are motivated to reuse and refinish instead of sending bulky cabinetry to a landfill,” Joe says.

Whatever your reasons for renovating, or not renovating, a cabinet painting by Chagrin Home Improvements can give you the look you’re looking for.

Respect the Process

Here’s a quick look at the Chagrin Home Improvements cabinet revitalization process:

  1. The process begins with a visit to your home to assess the cabinets and their condition. Owner Joe Jacobs gets back to you promptly with a detailed, written quote.
  2. The removal of the cabinet doors, drawers and hardware happens next. Everything is cataloged to ensure it’s put back in the right place.
  3. Cabinet doors and drawers are taken to the painting facility where the critical preparation process begins. Cracks or holes in the wood are filled before sanding every inch to a smooth finish, cleaning them thoroughly to remove dust or residue, then applying two coats of a premium primer and spraying two coats of extremely durable urethane enamel paint for a flawless finish.
  4. While the doors are being painted off-site, a crew member is painting the cabinet boxes using the same process as in step three for a stunning, uniform finish.
  5. Your revitalized cabinet doors and hardware are reinstalled.
