Your Medicare, your choice

Freedom of choice when it comes to Medicare means you get to decide who supports your journey.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

You have the freedom to choose a Medicare support person, and (L-R) Chris Weible, Laura Weible DeYoung, Marisella Weible and John Weible, licensed insurance agents with HealthMarkets Insurance Agency, are ready and waiting to help. (Photography: Adrienne Rose)

One of the best parts about being an adult is the opportunity to exercise free will. We all have it, naturally, but the luxury to act on free will as it applies to your own life and then put the resulting decision into motion is a gift.

There are times we have free will and may not even realize it. One area in particular is Medicare. Did you know you have options when it comes to enrolling? You can visit Medicare.gov or work with a licensed insurance agent who understands the process and can help guide you through it. In fact, you can choose someone right here in Northeast Ohio.

There are many, many choices when it comes to sourcing support. But the beauty of being you is that you can choose whomever you’d like to help navigate these decisions for 2027, as they apply to your Medicare coverage. Consider working with someone who dedicates their time to understanding Medicare changes year after year. Someone who is not affiliated with any specific plan or carrier, and someone who is a licensed insurance agent focused on helping you make informed choices based on your individual needs.

The Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare runs from Thursday, October 15, through Monday, December 7. During this time, Medicare beneficiaries can review and make changes to their healthcare coverage for 2027.

This includes options such as Medicare Advantage plans, Prescription Drug Plans, and Original Medicare.

If you’re not sure who to turn to, or where to begin, consider Marisella Weible, Laura Weible DeYoung, John Weible or Chris Weible, all of whom are licensed insurance agents with HealthMarkets Insurance Agency.

“Everyone who participates in Medicare is free to make their own choices,” assures Marisella. “Beneficiaries have the option to make their Medicare plan selections independently, or they can tap into the knowledge base of someone like me, who has spent part of the year reviewing the changes coming to Medicare in 2027.

My focus for each person I support through the process is his or her individual needs. Even husbands and wives need to be treated as individuals, because no two situations are alike.”

“Getting help from someone who is focused on your particular situation can be valuable,” John adds. “Until you try to navigate all the details on your own, it can be difficult to appreciate how much information there is to review.”

Laura suggests calling their office to make an easy, informative appointment to meet with her or another member of the team. “That’s where many of our clients like to begin,” she says. “It can be overwhelming to sift through the many Medicare options available. When you schedule a time to meet with me or someone from my team, we’ll provide information about available plans and coverage options.”

Medicare can be complex. Some individuals may feel confident navigating it on their own, while others may benefit from guidance. Meeting with a licensed insurance agent can help to determine which options may meet your needs.

Chris says some people choose to review their options independently because they are concerned there may be a cost associated with working with a licensed insurance agent. “There is absolutely no cost for our help, and many people appreciate having support when reviewing and comparing Medicare options,” he says.

Being Local Matters

Having a local licensed insurance agent like Marisella Weible, Laura Weible DeYoung, John Weible or Chris Weible can be a helpful resource when reviewing your Medicare options. Because they’re located in Northeast Ohio, they may be familiar with local hospital systems, provider networks, and Medicare plan options available in this area.

All agents in the Parma and North Royalton offices are available to discuss your individual needs and help you explore plan options. Personalized assistance from a licensed insurance agent can help you review and compare available Medicare options.
