Score!

A trip to Classic Auto Group Park to catch a Lake County Captains game always includes so much more than baseball. Here’s how you can score a day to remember, no matter when you catch a game.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

As a Cleveland Guardians affiliate, the Captains offer the unique opportunity to watch tomorrow’s Guardians stars before they head to the major leagues.

Nothing says summer in the USA quite like baseball. And no one does baseball quite like the Lake County Captains. Quintessential America is on display on game nights at the Captains’ Classic Auto Group Park stadium in Eastlake, complete with traditional baseball fare, fireworks, family fun, mascots and high-level baseball action.

Family Fun for Everyone

“A Lake County Captains game offers families far more than nine innings of baseball,” says general manager Jen Yorko. “It’s an affordable, fun-filled experience where lasting memories are created. From exciting, on-the-field action and interactive between-inning entertainment to theme nights, fireworks and kid-friendly activities, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy.”

And don’t forget the baseball. As a Cleveland Guardians affiliate the Captains offer the unique opportunity to watch tomorrow’s Guardians stars before they head to the major leagues.

“Fans have had the chance to see players like José Ramírez begin their professional journeys,” says Jen. “Today’s top prospects, including Travis Bazzana, represent the next generation of Guardians talent. Your kids can say they watched these future stars before they became household names.”

From catching a foul ball and running the bases after the game to enjoying local food and entertainment with friends and family in a friendly, welcoming environment, every visit to Classic Auto Group Park is an experience to remember.

“The staff and team members at the Lake County Captains are proud to provide Northeast Ohio families with a place where baseball, community and unforgettable summer traditions come together,” says Jen.

Beyond Baseball

As an important economic driver for Lake County and the surrounding communities, the Captains bring thousands of visitors to Classic Auto Group Park every year.

“These visitors don’t only attend baseball games,” says Jen. “They dine at local restaurants, stay in nearby hotels, shop local retailers and visit other attractions throughout the area.”

Beyond the 66-game home baseball season, Classic Park hosts a wide variety of events that generate additional tourism and economic activity, including the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships that bring teams and fans from across the country.

Classic Auto Group Park also hosts high-profile events such as the Annual Clear Vision Celebrity Softball Game, featuring NFL, NBA and other celebrity athletes and drawing thousands of fans to Eastlake. These events raise the community’s profile and support charitable causes.

“The ballpark welcomes youth and amateur sporting events, corporate outings, charity fundraisers, community festivals, concerts and private events creating a steady stream of visitors—all supporting local businesses,” says Jen.

In addition to in-park events, the Captains partner with schools, nonprofits, civic organizations and local companies to create fundraising opportunities, educational programming and community initiatives to strengthen the fabric of Lake County.

“As a professional sports franchise and a year-round event destination, the Captains contribute millions of dollars in economic activity, all while showcasing our home, Lake County, as a vibrant place to live, work and visit,” says Jen.

Captains of the Community

The Lake County Captains might do more off the field than on. They are deeply committed to making a positive impact beyond the baseball field by investing in the people of the communities they serve.

“Both the staff and players work hard to support the community through the lens of baseball,” says Jen. “Members of our front office actively volunteer their time, serve on non-profit boards and support organizations that improve Lake County, such as the Miracle League of Lake County, which helps provide children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy of baseball, and the United Way of Lake County, working to strengthen local families through education, financial stability and health initiatives.”

The Lake County Captains host free baseball clinics, school visits, reading programs, mascot appearances and youth baseball and softball partnerships, all to inspire the next generation of athletes and fans by making baseball accessible to children throughout Northeast Ohio.

“Over the years, the Lake County Captains have become so much more than a sports team,” says Jen. “They are a trusted community partner dedicated to improving the lives of those who call Lake County home.”
