Flawless floors
Clear Choice Flooring takes every installation a step further. Here’s how the company is racking up those five-star reviews.

When it comes to a job done well, every aspect of a floor’s integrity must be considered. Steve Sevinsky (right) and Chris Dysert’s Clear Choice Flooring goes the extra mile to ensure the floors it installs flawlessly endure.
I f you had to choose between overwhelming and fun, wouldn’t you go with fun every time?
That’s what Steve Sevinsky and Chris Dysert, the leaders at Clear Choice Flooring, are banking their business model on. At every point in the floor replacement process, they go out of their way to take away any pain points.
The selection process? A breeze. These hands-on owner-operators bring the showroom to you in the comfort of your home to see what the samples look like in that environment. With years of design experience, they make collaborating with them a ball. You can forget about driving around from showroom to showroom being overwhelmed by selections. They did the research and vetted the best of the best within each flooring category, from hardwoods to luxury vinyl tile, carpeting and garage floor cement restoration.
“We’ve done hundreds of jobs and enjoy taking the time to show homeowners what’s possible,” says Steve, who is a Brunswick native, growing up off of South Carpenter Road.
Installation? No worries. Their highly trained crews have handled, and problem solved, any issue that could pop up on the job. They take into account every detail, from the baseboards and shoe molding to transitions and finishing elements for a pristine final look. And forget fretting about moving your furniture. The crews do all the heavy lifting.
“We’ve had customers tell us, ‘We got a new floor, and nobody ever talked to us about the trim,’” says Chris. “That would never happen with us.”
Masters of the Job Done Well
As the gentlemen and their crews learned in the home improvement business, there’s a big difference from a job done and a job done well.
“What happens underneath the floor can be just as important as what you see on top,” says Steve. “We’ve seen many installations where flooring problems were actually caused by poor preparation underneath.”
On a recent project, he mentions the existing flooring was removed only to reveal a subfloor covered in uneven globs of cement, shoddy workmanship they had to fix that accounted for 1,100 square feet of leveling.
That attention to preparation is especially important with floating luxury vinyl flooring, which needs a properly prepared surface under it.
Chris and Steve count themselves lucky to have such a talented and loyal staff. All three crews have been with the company since the beginning.
“These guys work only for us,” says Steve. “They know how we work and are in line with our standards.”
That continuity is critical to the gentlemen because they want the experience homeowners receive during the consultation to carry through to the installation. Clear Choice is the epitome of the one-stop shop, from the first conversation to the final piece of trim.
Hometown Heroes
Steve grew up in Brunswick and has deep roots in the community.
“I’m not sure there are too many houses left for us to transform in this town,” he says with a laugh. “Once people see our work, that gets them talking. There was a stretch where we did 14 jobs within a three-street radius.”
And when the job is done, the five-star reviews mention honesty, diligence, integrity and fun.
“Our best form of advertising has been the finished floors we’ve created,” says Steve.
Want it by the Holidays?
This is a company that has quickly found its rhythm, and that translates to faster turnaround times than you’ll see with most flooring companies.
“Depending on the size and scope of a project, we should be able to handle it within two to three weeks,” says Chris. “We know our customers will be in a rush to beautify their homes by the holidays, and it means the world to us to make that happen.”

Transformed with LVT
In the flooring business, you’d think the owners’ home would have the latest and greatest floors imaginable, right? Well, not exactly.
For years, Chris Dysert was the flooring equivalent to the shoemaker whose children went barefoot. While he and business partner Steve Sevinsky were working nonstop helping homeowners transform their houses with beautiful new flooring, Chris was walking around his own kitchen on cold, drab, unforgiving ceramic tile.
“I would always have to wear socks or flip-flops when walking on it,” he says. “And it looked blah and dated.”
He replaced it with stunning luxury vinyl tile that looks just like marble, and it changed everything.
“Not only does the whole room look lighter, brighter and modernized, but the feel of the vinyl is softer and warmer to walk on,” he says. “It even makes the cabinetry look like new. I love it and have no idea why I waited so long.”
If a flooring guru finally decides his own floors need an upgrade, that might be the best endorsement of all.
“I feel like I can do a better job of selling LVT now that I’m one of our own five-star reviews,” says Chris, laughing.
