Instead of being cooped up with the kids this fall, why not discover a way to express your creativity at Fairmount Center for the Arts?

We’re fully enveloped in the summer, relaxing and enjoying lazy, sun-filled days by the pool and spending lots of time outdoors.


Before we know it, fall will be just around the corner. Have you scheduled any indoor activities for the kids, or even for yourself? How about something to spark your child’s creativity and your own inner artist? Fall class registration for kids aged 7 and above and for adult classes is now open at Fairmount Center for the Arts


“There’s something for everyone at Fairmount Center,” says director of marketing and community relations Katelyn Gainer. “Along with our fall registration, we’re also announcing the opening of our Chardon location at 106 Water Street. We had a location already in Chardon, grew out of that quickly, and have moved to this new, 5,000-square-foot space just down the street.”


Katelyn says the new location offers larger spaces that allow for even more classes and lessons, with three new music studios, an art multipurpose room and areas for creative arts therapies and adapted arts. 


“We offer adapted arts therapies through our Grounded and Growing program,” says Katelyn. “These classes include intentionally smaller groups for children in need of extra support while providing gentle accommodations for sensory sensitivities and developmental differences. Grounded and Growing offers classes in music, dance and the visual arts.”


Grounded and Growing classes are available the Novelty location and incorporate various media to encourage self-awareness, emotional expression and overall well-being and are designed to meet a variety of needs. 


Fall at Fairmount Center for the Arts

“We are thrilled to offer a variety of classes for kids of all ages and adults ranging from drawing, painting and printing to tap and Zumba,” says Katelyn. “Unique media like paper weaving, bookmaking and relief printmaking are also offered, along with ceramics and pottery.”


How does acrylic painting or woodland watercolor painting sound? Fairmount Center offers all of this and so much more for anyone interested in improving their skills or starting from scratch. Fairmount Center welcomes you wherever you are in your artistic journey. 


“We offer something for every skill set and every level, including beginners,” says Katelyn. “We love nothing more than watching kids and adults discover a love for the arts, whatever the form. That’s the ideal Fairmount Center was founded on and why we continue to expand our programming and help anyone at any age learn, grow and thrive through the arts.”

“The arts are a complement to what children are already doing in school,” says Katelyn. “At Fairmount Center for the Arts, they are learning, growing, developing new skills and having a lot of fun doing it.”
