Feel good with every move
Summertime brings with it more movement and more opportunity for injury. StretchLab keeps you moving and feeling better, no matter which activities you take on.

It’s summertime, and the livin’ could be easy—as long as you stretch first. Summer has a way of exposing achy joints and sore muscles just as soon as we get back to activities like golf, tennis, pickleball and chasing the kids around the park and pool.
“We work with many clients wanting to get back to their outdoor activities who are finding that a brisk and sedentary winter left them stiff, sore and not very confident about everyday movement,” says StretchLab Hudson manager Kim Newhouse. “Assisted stretching at StretchLab will give you back the mobility and confidence it takes to perform your best for summer activities, along with tackling the tasks of daily life.”
Regardless of age, the standing, sitting, bending and reaching we do as we move through our day takes a toll on the body. A consistent stretching routine can help anyone move better today and keep moving in the future.
Kim reminds us that not all stretching is the same, and we can actually do more harm than good if performed improperly. At StretchLab, you are stretched by a trained expert, a Flexologist, who guides you through a series of stretches unique to your specific needs and goals.
“Every StretchLab Flexologist is an extensively trained expert with a background in fitness that may include bachelor’s, even master’s degrees in a related field, along with experience in areas like yoga, personal fitness, athletic training and more,” Kim says.
StretchLab Flexologists complete an extensive, three-tiered certification process that includes more than 60 hours of in-person workshops, online training and many hands-on practice hours administering StretchLab’s signature 26 stretches to hone their skills.
Your Flexologist uses a stretching technique called proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, which uses resistance to target your body’s tissues and ligaments and improve muscle elasticity.
“We work off a tension scale of 1-10 for every stretch,” Kim says. “We want the stretch to feel good, without pain, but move you beyond your typical range of motion so you are always progressing. You’ll leave feeling confident and prepared for whatever life may bring.”
Stretching on the Road
Summertime brings changes in routine. School is out, vacations are scheduled and life becomes more active and unpredictable. Keeping up with a stretching routine allows you to keep up with the activities of a busy summer, improving physical and mental health.
“StretchLabs are popping up everywhere,” Kim says. “And membership offers reciprocity at StretchLabs around the country. No matter where you travel, use your StretchLab app to locate a local studio or refer to the app for a stretching routine built specifically for you. With StretchLab, you’re never alone. We’ll keep you stretching no matter where you are.”
Kim recommends a full, 50-minute, 26-stretch initial session with your Flexologist to test your limitations and capabilities, then structure a plan around your specific needs and goals.
“This is a highly personalized experience,” Kim says. “No two stretches are the same. You are improving with each visit as we continue to adapt and increase your strength and capabilities. No matter what your goals are, whether it’s improving your golf swing, running a marathon or remaining independent in your home, let’s work together to achieve them.”
Call 234-602-2600 to schedule your initial 50-minute stretch for just $49.
