Happiness, every day

At Holiday Copley Place, residents like Rebecca Steele enjoy the benefits of all-inclusive senior living in a thoughtfully-designed setting.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

For Rebecca Steele, Holiday Copley Place isn’t just where she lives—it’s where she’s thriving. Known for dressing up daily in long dresses and colorful outfits that reflect her cheerful spirit, she shares her apartment with two cats, Skipper and Anna, who spend days watching the world from her third-floor balcony. After spending 20 years circling the globe while her husband served in the Navy—including welcoming her daughter while stationed in Scotland—Wadsworth native Rebecca Steele felt the pull of home. Decades later, following her husband’s passing, she was ready to return to Northeast Ohio and begin her next chapter.

When she decided to move into a senior community last fall, Rebecca knew exactly what she was looking for.

“I wanted a place where I could be free to do the things I enjoy most in life,” says the 80-year-old. “If I don’t feel like cooking or cleaning, I wanted to know help was available.”

She toured many communities, but the search ended the moment she walked into Holiday Copley Place.

“As soon as I walked in, I felt at home,” Rebecca says. “I knew instantly—this is it.”

Designed to blend the comforts of home with a thoughtfully-designed feel, Copley Place offers an engaging, independent senior-living lifestyle centered around comfort, convenience and community. Every detail is thoughtfully planned. Chef-prepared meals feature farm-to-table, scratch cooking. Weekly housekeeping keeps apartments fresh and tidy. Cozy gathering spaces, from front-porch rocking chairs to a tree-lined backyard pavilion to private apartment balconies, encourage residents to linger and relax. And a full social calendar rounds out the experience, with activities that range from watercolor workshops to live entertainment.

“The very first week I moved in, I met a couple of good buddies,” says Rebecca, who previously worked as an EKG technician in Akron and Columbus and had her own cake decorating business while living in Virginia. “Now we send good morning and good night messages every day to each other. I also have dozens of other friends I do activities with. And I always love when my son, daughter and grandchildren come to visit.”

Rebecca, 80, volunteers to run Wednesday and Saturday night bingo and also helped launch a coloring group, diamond dots craft sessions, and is always thinking of new activities.

“The community already had a coffee group, but I enjoy tea,” she says. “So, I helped start Positivity Tuesday Tea. We all gather in the piano room, enjoy tea, relax and have positive conversation.”

“I truly enjoy living here. It really feels like home, and everyone is so nice,” she says.

Live Independently, Surrounded by Community

At Copley Place, the focus is on helping residents live independently while staying connected to a supportive community.

“We offer a setting where residents can enjoy an independent lifestyle, with support available if and when it’s needed,” says Jackie Mitchell, general manager of Copley Place. “We do everything we can to help residents continue living comfortably and confidently, including providing transportation, cooking meals and offering weekly housekeeping. If additional care is required, in-house caregivers are available, allowing residents to age in place within the community.”

Copley Place features studio, one- or two-bedroom apartment floorplans, as well as a fully furnished apartment available for short-term respite stays. The 120 spacious apartments are spread across three floors, with inviting common areas serving as an extension of the home. Amenities include a restaurant-style dining room, library, activity room, business center, beauty salon and fitness center—all within a building originally constructed in 2006 and recently remodeled with a bright, airy and artful design.

In addition to daily breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the dining room, residents have access to a refresh station stocked with coffee, flavored water and snacks, available throughout the day. Apartments also have kitchenettes for heating meals or brewing coffee.

“We make living here affordable by including everything in the monthly rent, such as a private apartment, utilities, three meals a day, housekeeping and linen services, and transportation,” says Jackie, noting that pricing starts at $2,189 per month. “At Copley Place, we take care of all the details so residents can focus on doing what brings them happiness, every day.”
