Clambake!

Bunker Hill Golf Course is bringing back its wildly popular public clambake—and everyone is invited.

Bunker Hill Golf Course will bring back its popular public clambake on Sunday, October 5, from 2-5 p.m., in partnership with Brigid’s Cross, a Celtic band that blends traditional Irish music with contemporary folk. The event will be held at the pavilion.

“If you say, ‘clambake’ in northeastern Ohio, it just screams ‘party,’” says Chad Gibson, general manager of Bunker Hill Golf Course, in Medina.

“It’s weird that if you go outside northeastern Ohio, even to Maine, Massachusetts or New Orleans, where you think they would specialize in clambakes, they don’t even know what they are,” Chad reveals. “But here, they are a beloved part of the fall season. It’s another reason to have a great time and party with incredible food.”

That’s why Chad, the master of hassle-free special events and fundraisers, is not only continuing Bunker Hill’s long tradition of private clambake events during September and October, but he’s also bringing back the venue’s annual public clambake.

You needn’t love clams to enjoy Bunker Hill clambakes.

That’s because Bunker Hill offers the option of substituting a filet of sirloin or a pair of shrimp skewers for a dozen clams.

“That makes it fun for everybody,” he emphasizes. “Everybody now can not only go to the party, but they can also enjoy their full meal. Usually about a third of the people will go with the clams and the rest will substitute out.”

“You also get a half a chicken, potatoes, corn and real clam chowder—not broth,” Chad says.

Like all Bunker Hill functions, “hassle-free” is key.

“People like to come in with family or business associates and have a big party without having to worry about setting up and tearing down,” Chad says. “Instead, they get to spend the time having fun together. For all our events, we build a website for the guests to register and pay online.”

Bunker Hill can accommodate clambakes from 40 to 160 people, with two venues to choose from.

“You can have your clambake in our brand-new event center, which is climate- controlled, with linen tablecloths, overlooking the golf course,” Chad says. “We also have our rustic outdoor pavilion, which offers a spectacular clambake atmosphere, being outside on a crisp autumn night with bonfires and cornhole.”

The pavilion holds up to 96 underneath the roof and another 80 outside the pavilion.

“It gives you tons of room to party,” he says. “Sometimes people hire bands to play during their event.”

After a few dormant years, Bunker Hill will bring back its popular public clambake on Sunday, October 5, from 2-5 p.m., in partnership with Brigid’s Cross, a Celtic band that blends traditional Irish music with contemporary folk. The event will be held at the pavilion.

The cost will be $55 for adults and $25 for kids aged 4-11. A kids’ meal will include chicken tenders and French fries. Groups of eight to 10 can get a VIP table under the pavilion—and get a special visit from Polly and Peggy, of Brigid’s Cross.

“Here’s a chance for people who don’t have a party of 40 to 160 but want to come to a clambake as an individual or a couple or a small family,” Chad says. “Tickets are required ahead of time, and we expect it to sell out, so be sure to get your tickets early.”

It’s also not too soon to book Bunker Hill for your personal or business Christmas or holiday party.

You can register for the public Brigid’s Cross clambake at Birdease.com/BHBC2025. You can book your event or get more information by emailing chad@bunkerhillgc.com or calling 330-725-1400, option 3. You can learn more about golfing, special events and fundraisers at BunkerHillGolf.com and keep up with the latest news on Facebook @BunkerHillGolf. Bunker Hill is located at 3060 Pearl Road, at Hamilton Road, in Medina.
