Spectacular!

Your old cabinets don’t need to be replaced; they just need to be refreshed. Here’s how Chagrin Home Improvements can take them from dull and damaged to spectacular—for less.

It’s August in the Midwest, a time when kids are heading back to school and we’re all heading back indoors. That means we go from one gathering place, the deck, to the other, the kitchen.

If you already know Chagrin Home Improvements, you know it is a go-to deck and cabinet revitalization company in our little corner of the world. Owner Joe Jacobs has been perfecting its processes for deck maintenance, staining and sealing and cabinet painting for years now, and this community has gotten used to seeing its familiar trucks around town. And Joe and his crew are proud to continue to offer these services to families in the area where they were raised and still live today with their own families.

“We’ve been successful with our two specialized services here because being from the area, we know what’s important to residents,” Joe says. “People take great pride in their homes, inside and out, and that’s why we decided early on to focus on the indoor and outdoor hearts of our homes—the deck and the kitchen.”

Joe invested in a dedicated, high-tech, cabinet painting facility with the latest in spray painting equipment originally designed for high-end car painting.

“We’ve reconfigured it for our purposes and built a pristine, dust-free facility where the environment guarantees a like-new result,” Joe says. “If you’re thinking about new cabinets but your old ones are in decent shape, might be dirty, stained and a little dated in terms of the wood color or stain, our process is truly transformational and will save you a lot of money in the long run.”

With the new design trends leaning toward painted cabinets in darker, moodier shades, it’s the perfect time to give your kitchen an update and try something new without the investment of brand-new cabinets that may actually be a lesser quality than the ones you already have in your home.

“The installation process of new cabinets can also cause an expensive, invasive ripple effect you never anticipated,” Joe says. “Tearing out old cabinets impacts the walls, countertops, backsplash, sink, appliances and plumbing. Your ‘affordable’ new cabinet installation just got very expensive.”

If your cabinets are in decent condition but the outdated style, color or imperfections bother you, Chagrin Home Improvements’ professional process will transform them and here’s how it works.

  1. The process begins with a visit to your home to assess the cabinets and their condition. Joe gets back to you with a detailed, written quote.
  2. The removal of the cabinet doors, drawers and hardware happens next. Everything is cataloged to ensure it’s put back in the right place.
  3. Cabinet doors and drawers are taken to the painting facility where the critical preparation process begins. Cracks or holes in the wood are filled before sanding every inch to a smooth finish, cleaning them thoroughly to remove dust or residue, then applying two coats of premium primer and spraying two coats of extremely durable urethane enamel paint for a flawless finish.
  4. While the doors are painted off-site, a crew member is painting the cabinet boxes using the same process as in step three for a stunning, uniform finish.
  5. Your revitalized cabinets and hardware are reinstalled.

The process takes five days, and you’ll have the use of your kitchen the entire time. Joe promises minimal dust and disruption to your home.
