StretchLab takes the power of assisted stretch and customizes it to each individual—and the results are life-changing.

Stretching is one thing you can add to your routine to help prevent injury, improve flexibility, strength and mobility, help you sleep better, and provide overall pain relief without medication.

StretchLab makes it easy because your personal Flexologist does the stretching for you.

StretchLab provides an assisted stretch from a highly trained expert in the science of stretching and how it affects muscles, bones and tendons, making them stronger, more flexible and allowing you to do the things you love to do, and the things you have to do, more easily and without pain.

Flexologist Joe Arthur comes to StretchLab Rocky River with four years of experience as a personal trainer looking to offer something more to his clients.

“As an athlete in high school playing football, I knew the importance of stretching for avoiding injury and improving performance,” Joe says. “But knowing about it and doing it correctly are very different. Becoming a StretchLab Flexologist has allowed me to educate my clients and help them in their daily lives.”

The StretchLab Flexologist training process includes 60-plus hours of in-person training and 20-plus practice hours administering StretchLab’s 26 signature stretches.

“I loved the fact that in order to become a Flexologist you must have a background in the health and fitness field,” Joe says. “StretchLab teaches the proper way to stretch and how important technique is. Flexologists know how much to push the client to get the best results and customizes stretches to individual needs and goals.”

Focusing on the individual is one of the things that makes StretchLab unique. This is not a one-stretch-fits-all experience.

Among its varied client base, StretchLab Flexologists work with gymnasts, ballerinas and other athletes who are often uncomfortable with an assisted stretch and afraid of being hurt.

“I moved here from Detroit where I coached gymnastics for six years,” Jake Thompson says. “I was a wrestler in high school, and I know the importance of staying flexible.”

With his coaching background, Jake enjoys working with young athletes and showing them that stretching is nothing to be afraid of. It’s a tool that will prove to be beneficial now and for the rest of their lives.

“I work with gymnasts, ballerinas and other athletes who are often uncomfortable with an assisted stretch and afraid of being hurt,” Jake says. “I guide you, always communicating, making sure you’re breathing correctly. We don’t believe in ‘no pain, no gain.’”

Jake also works with older clients and one particular stroke patient working on regaining strength and mobility.

“This client is now raising her arm over her head, something she thought she would never do again,” Jake says. “It’s great to be a part of that.”

After 23 years as a massage therapist, Flexologist Tara Pandos was looking for something with less stress on her body but still in the wellness field.

“A Flexologist is similar to a massage therapist but with the benefits of offering flexibility, mobility and strength,” Tara says. “The assisted stretches are the key to results. Anyone can stretch on their own and we encourage that and even give homework to clients along with stretches available on our app, but we know how far to push you and it’s further than you would push yourself.”

Tara loves helping clients reach their goals and then set new ones.

“Clients come in and say, ‘Look what I can do now,’” Tara says. “Even if it’s putting their socks on, their arm in a shirt or running a marathon, it’s their goal. We help them reach it.”
