Restoring your headlights
Cloudy or yellowed headlights can block up to 80% of the light needed to drive safely at night. Headlight Restoration Company—once available only to car dealers—can now restore your headlights, too.

If you’re among the millions of Americans who avoid driving at night because of visibility concerns, the issue may not be your eyesight. According to the AAA, “clouded or yellowed headlights generate only 20% of the amount of light that new headlights do, leading to dangerous nighttime driving conditions.”
Headlights become yellowed or cloudy from constant exposure to sunlight, which degrades the outer layer of plastic and wears down the manufacturer-applied UV-blocking clear coat. In addition, flying debris, sand and gravel act like sandpaper at highway speeds, creating tiny pockmarks and scratches that scatter light and dull the lens, making it look hazy. Harsh road salt, mud, tar and other road chemicals also cling to the lens’s porous surface, forming an opaque film.
The good news is you can now do something about your cloudy headlights. And, no, it isn’t a short-term DIY kit. Those treatments last only a few days or weeks at most. Instead, Brandon Anter’s Headlight Restoration Company restores your headlights with a seven-step process that includes a three-year warranty.
“I’m a detail guy,” Brandon says. “I’ve always been enthusiastic about keeping cars clean. But several years ago, I restored the headlights for my fiancée—now my wife—and she told me she could see much better at night. That’s when I realized restoring headlights isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about safety. Doing this work became my calling.”
For years, Brandon’s service has been a secret among local car dealers who hire him to restore headlights on vehicles in their used-car inventory. But now the secret is out, and Brandon can restore headlights for you, too—in your own driveway.
“I like working with car dealerships, but, honestly, I get more satisfaction and gratitude from working with people,” Brandon says. “I know I’m providing a valuable service that helps keep the vehicle owner and their family safe.”
Restore Versus Replace
Brandon notes one alternative to his service is to buy new headlights, but that can be very expensive. Replacing headlights can cost thousands of dollars. “The manufacturer’s parts are expensive, but so is the labor, which can sometimes require removing the bumper.”
To prove the point, Brandon asked me the year, make and model of my car. Using an app he created himself, he found the parts alone for my Honda were $1,100 and double that for my wife’s older Volvo.
“I recently restored the headlights on a very expensive sports car, and the owner told me he had been quoted $5,700 to replace them,” Brandon adds. “It feels good to know I’m not just saving lives. The amount of money I’m saving people is astronomical.”
Headlight Restoration Company serves all of Cuyahoga, Summit and Medina counties.

The 7-Step Headlight Restoration Process
- Inspection & Evaluation: Assess oxidation level, lens condition and the right restoration approach for your vehicle.
- Surface Preparation: Surrounding paint is masked and protected. Surfaces are cleaned and decontaminated.
- Oxidation Removal: Deeper haze and cloudiness are eliminated to reveal clear polycarbonate beneath.
- Progressive Wet Sanding: Multiple grits—from coarse to extra fine—remove yellowing, micro-pitting and the failed factory UV coating.
- Machine Polishing: Multiple refined polishing stages bring the lens back to optical clarity and a glass-like finish.
- Ceramic Protection Application: A long-life ceramic coating bonds to the lens for UV and oxidation defense.
- Final Inspection: Quality check, warranty issued and your vehicle’s headlights are clean and safe once more.
