Overcoming anxiety
If you’re engaged in talk therapy—or taking meds like Prozac or Zoloft—now may be the time to explore NSR.

Reset Medical & Wellness Center is one of the only healthcare facilities in the nation to specialize in Neuro Sympathetic Reset (NSR), a single 20-minute procedure to improve anxiety-related symptoms.
Here in Northeast Ohio, we are blessed to have some of the finest healthcare facilities in the world, so much so that people from all over the globe come here for treatment.
There is another local medical facility that attracts national and international patients. It’s called Reset Medical & Wellness Center, which specializes in Neuro Sympathetic Reset (NSR), an innovative treatment that improves symptoms of anxiety-related conditions.
During the 20-minute outpatient procedure—also known as a stellate ganglion block—a local anesthetic is injected around the “stellate ganglion,” a cluster of nerves in the neck, to disrupt excessive fight-or-flight signals and reduce the body’s stress response.
How It Works
“The anesthetic block temporarily halts this part of the overactive nervous system, allowing the system to ‘reset,’” explains Michael Louwers, MD, the center’s CEO and medical director. “It’s similar to how rebooting a computer can solve operating issues. The block helps create new pathways in the brain that allow us to process emotions and respond to stress in a healthy way.”
The procedure has a 75% success rate, which is higher than many traditional treatments. We’ve found that by combining NSR with other treatments—like talk therapy and mindfulness techniques—patients see even better results.” Dr. Louwers says.
NSR has long been approved for pain relief, but physicians and researchers discovered that pain patients were also reporting significantly reduced anxiety. That brought NSR into the mainstream. Though most insurance companies still do not cover it, NSR is now being used to treat PTSD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, menopause, chronic fatigue, Long-COVID and other conditions.
About PTSD
“Many people think PTSD involves only a single highly traumatic event,” Dr. Louwers explains. “But it can also be caused by long-term trauma, including physical and emotional abuse and issues involving childhood, work life or even the economy. These daily stressors add up over time, and the body often adapts in ways that create physical symptoms like headaches, digestive issues, chronic fatigue, or a feeling of tightness in the chest. Many people are surprised when medical tests show nothing ‘wrong,’ but the truth is stress and anxiety often show up in the body.”
Support of Nonprofits
NSR is well known within the non-profit mental health community, which is why half of Reset’s patients come to the center after being recommended by a local or national non-profit organization whose mission is to support people with mental health issues. These foundations help various constituents depending on the mission. They often include military members, veterans, first responders, and their families. Reset offers a special discount to these groups.
Compassionate Care
Because the facility is a surgical center, it must meet specific healthcare regulations. Nevertheless, the team has created a relaxing, spa-like environment that still meets the safety and hygiene standards of hospitals.
“We understand our patients,” Dr. Louwers says. “Our patient engagement team is highly trained and compassionate. They help patients relax and feel comfortable. For people with anxiety, just picking up the phone and calling us can be a challenge. We know that. We understand that. We care. And we’re here.”
Thankfully, Northeast Ohioans do not need to travel to New York or Los Angeles for an NSR treatment. The center is in an inconspicuous office park in Strongsville.
Reset Medical & Wellness Center is located at 8370 Dow Circle in Strongsville. For more information, call 1-877-RESET10 or visit TheResetCenter.com.

Although Reset Medical & Wellness Center is a surgical center, its calming, spa-like environment helps patients relax.
