UH TriPoint Medical Center’s Comprehensive Breast Health Center makes breast care and recovery more convenient—close to home

UH TriPoint Breast Center provides a dedicated breast health care coordinator. This professional acts as a personal liaison, helping patients navigate every step—from initial screenings to diagnosis and treatment.

For many women, the most stressful part of a health screening isn’t just the appointment itself. It’s the time spent traveling between different offices for follow-up tests and the anxiety of waiting for answers. To solve this, UH TriPoint Medical Center has announced the opening of a new, unified Breast Center designed to bring all essential breast health services under one roof.

The opening marks a significant milestone in regional health care, combining advanced diagnostic technology with a patient experience that prioritizes comfort and convenience. By unifying these services in one location, UH TriPoint is ensuring patients in Lake County and surrounding areas no longer have to travel far for the most sophisticated care available.

“Strengthening access to comprehensive care across our region is essential to supporting the health and well-being of every family we serve,” says Robyn Strosaker, MD, President and Chief Operating Officer, UH Lake Health Medical Centers. “When patients can receive high-quality, coordinated services close to home, it makes a meaningful difference in their lives. We’re proud to offer these services at UH TriPoint.”

A Faster Path to Answers

The new center is equipped with the latest advancements in breast imaging, including tomosynthesis—commonly known as 3D mammography. This technology allows for higher-level diagnostic accuracy and earlier detection. The center also features dedicated breast ultrasound technology and upright stereotactic biopsy guidance, ensuring that if a follow-up is needed, it can be handled quickly and precisely in the same familiar setting.

Later this year, the center will expand even further with the introduction of contrast-enhanced mammography, a sophisticated imaging tool that uses contrast to detect breast cancer with incredible detail. These investments, supported by both University Hospitals and state funding, are designed to catch concerns earlier while reducing the need for repeat appointments.

“This investment reflects our commitment to meeting patients where they are,” says Holly Marshall, MD, Division Chief of Breast Imaging at University Hospitals. “We are pleased to offer the most advanced imaging services at UH TriPoint, ensuring our neighbors can access specialized, high-quality care close to home, now and for years to come.”

Support for the Whole Journey

Understanding that a medical journey can be overwhelming, the UH TriPoint Breast Center provides a dedicated breast health care coordinator. This professional acts as a personal liaison, helping patients navigate every step—from initial screenings to diagnosis and treatment. This ensures that no patient has to manage their healthcare journey alone, providing education, identifying resources, and offering a steady hand of support.

This expansion is part of a larger, $39 million investment by University Hospitals to build a new regional cancer hub at UH TriPoint Medical Center. Expected to open in the fall of 2026, this hub will offer specialized and complex treatments that were previously only available at downtown locations.

By bringing these specialties together in one place, UH TriPoint is helping patients move from a health concern to the right expert without extra steps, allowing families to stay focused on feeling better rather than the logistics of their care.
