Living you best life at Brooklyn Pointe
With a caring staff and a long list of on-site amenities, Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care helps residents live life to the fullest.

Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care may be the right fit for your parents or other loved ones to get the most out of their senior years.
On the heels of the holidays, when many families are looking for the best option for a loved one to get the most out of their senior years, Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care is a name that sits at the top of any given shortlist.
Danielle Ridgeway, director of marketing and communications, spends most of her time giving tours. When she meets with prospective residents, the first thing she asks is what their mom or dad’s day looks like and what their routines are.
“By the end of a tour, I will have given them a good idea of what their life would look like here,” she says. “They realize we offer a haven of comfort, relaxation and, above all, engagement tailored to them. Living alone can be lonely. Families tell us they pick up on our family-friendly vibe and social connections and after a tour say they could see their loved one here living their life to the fullest.”
When giving tours, Danielle likes to invite people to stay for lunch.
“Folks rave about our restaurant-style meals,” she says. “Plus, this gives us a chance to show families what a resident’s mealtimes will look like.”
The 87 beautifully appointed suites range from studios to one- and two-bedroom units. For safety, each room is equipped with an emergency call system and residents wear alert pendants.
Amenities include a beauty salon, barber shop, library, greenhouse, chapel, art studio, theater, wellness center, therapy gym, transportation to social activities, errands and doctor appointments, housekeeping, linen services and laundry.
A Day in the Life
“Since each resident’s routines are developed to their unique preferences, everyone’s day looks a little different,” says Danielle. “When someone moves in, our care partners get to know their lifestyle. Basically, their day is a lot like it was when they were at home, but with more built-in activities to help them thrive. The goal is to live in the moment and make their experience as enriched and fulfilling as possible, while providing support when needed for daily care like grooming and getting dressed. We cater to diverse interests.”
The day begins with a nutritious breakfast shared with friends. Then residents can participate in a wide range of activities—from walking and book clubs to arts and crafts, Scrabble, bingo, movie nights, Wii bowling and exercise classes. Residents also take adventurous excursions to local attractions on the Brooklyn Pointe bus.
Lunch and dinner are also shared communally with friends.
“On the spiritual side, we have lots of programs, such as St. Thomas More representatives coming in, to non-denominational services and watching mass from St. Bridget of Kildare in Parma, a parish many of our residents belong to,” Danielle says. “Our monthly Family Nights are also a big hit. Families tell us they appreciate how we accommodate them and invite them for events and everyday visits.”
When residents feel like they need alone time, that’s fine, too. They can relax in their spacious suites and interact when it feels right to them. “We respect our residents’ freedoms to choose their pace of activities,” she says.
A Continuum of Care to Age in Place
In memory care, Danielle says promoting independence and a feeling of belonging through residents’ journeys are their goals. A comprehensive assessment takes place for each person to gauge the level of memory loss.
“Through our Moments Matter memory program, our highly trained and certified memory care advisors customize the experience for those with cognitive impairment,” she says, noting that 24-hour medical support and occupational and physical therapy care are also provided. “Residents with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or dementia can take part in dining and many of the same activities our assisted living residents do. We treat everyone with a holistic approach.”
