Help yourself or someone you care about spring into the season with renewed vitality and an ability to embrace all types of activity with a stretch from StretchLab.

No matter what you're doing in life, a StretchLab session can help you do it better. Whether you're an athlete in search of recovery, you want to gain flexibility for sports, or you just want to be able to do your daily activities pain-free, there's a stretch for you. May is a time for appreciation. Teachers, nurses and, of course, mothers are all celebrated throughout the month of May. And for these people in our lives whose job it is to take care of others, how about taking care of them with the gift of a StretchLab stretch?

“These jobs are both mentally and physically demanding, requiring long periods of standing, bending and lifting, not to mention the mental demands,” StretchLab Fairlawn general manager Morgan Wantz says. “A professional stretch addresses both physical and mental wellness by forcing you to stop, relax and enjoy 50 minutes where the focus is on you. It’s a powerful gift to give someone who gives so much to others.”

The demands of professions like teaching, nursing and certainly motherhood often mean less time to focus on yourself and your own physical and mental wellness.

“When you’re run down and exhausted by the stress of daily life, your body suffers and you get sick or injured,” Morgan says. “At StretchLab, we focus on you, helping you get stronger and feeling better performing your daily tasks. A healthier body makes all the difference, and no matter your physical circumstances we can help get you there.”

For new moms, Flexologists are trained in stretching women throughout pregnancy.

“Pregnancy is a unique time when a woman’s body is constantly changing,” Morgan says. “Throughout pregnancy and afterward, we support those changes every step of the way and help women navigate their changing bodies and gain strength and flexibility for a more comfortable pregnancy.”

Before any client arrives for a first stretch, a StretchLab Flexologist reaches out about their lifestyle, goals or past injuries. The first session begins with StretchLab’s simple MAPS assessment to determine Mobility, Activation, Posture and Symmetry, and provide the Flexologist with the information they need to ensure each guest gets the most out of the stretch.

“Flexologists all have a mandatory background in fitness, along with a range of certifications in yoga, personal training and more,” Morgan says. “In addition, they complete an extensive, three-tiered certification process that makes them uniquely qualified to design a program appropriate for each individual.”

Flexologists participate in 60-plus hours of in-person workshops, online coursework and complete 20-plus practice hours administering StretchLab’s 26 stretches.

“Whoever comes in the door, we’re prepared to help,” Morgan says. “Between our training and the combined backgrounds of the Flexologists, there’s nothing we haven’t had experience with. And Flexologists take part in extensive continuing education in order to customize and fine-tune stretch sessions for their clients.”

No matter what you’re doing in life, a StretchLab stretch can help you do it better, whether you’re an athlete in search of recovery, you want to gain flexibility for golf, tennis or pickleball, or maybe you want to do your daily activities pain-free or just keep up with the grandkids. StretchLab is helping people with a wide range of goals every day.

“And this month is the perfect time to give the mothers, teachers and nurses in your life, or yourself, the gift of a stretch,” Morgan suggests. “We invite you to relax, let us do the work, and see the difference a StretchLab stretch can make in your life.”
