Celebrating together

Special days are meant to be enjoyed, which is why Blue Heron Brewery and Event Center offers Take and Bake options, so you can do just that.

Easter and Mother’s Day are special days when families most enjoy getting together for a delicious meal, notes Ben Erjavec, executive chef and co-owner of Blue Heron Brewery and Event Center.

“It’s become tradition for so many families on Easter and Mother’s Day to go out and have a nice brunch and spend time with family relaxing—and not dealing with all the hustle and bustle at the house and shopping and prepping,” he says.

Whether you want to dine out or at home, Blue Heron has your feast covered.

That’s because Blue Heron is hosting its traditional Easter and Mother’s Day brunches, and, for the first time, offering its popular Take & Bake meals for Easter dinner.

“Our Thanksgiving and Christmas Take and Bake meals have been wildly successful in past years, so this year we’ve added an Easter meal,” Ben explains. “People love that they can just pick it up, heat it up and serve dinner without all the stress and prep and clean-up. You can save a lot of hassle by serving the meals right in the foil pans we provide, or you can put it out on fine china to make it look extra fancy.”

The Easter Take & Bake is a restaurant-quality spread that includes:

  • Honey glazed ham
  • Chicken piccata with lemon caper sauce
  • Crunchy au gratin potatoes
  • Fresh green beans with lemon garlic oil
  • Springtime salad with ranch and balsamic
  • Fresh baked rolls with roasted garlic compound butter
  • Homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
  • A bottle of wine (two bottles for a family of 10)

Your meal will be ready for pickup the day before Easter—Saturday, April 4, between 2-5 p.m.

“It’s super easy,” Ben insists. “It will take 30 to 45 minutes in the oven and your Easter dinner is ready to go.”

If you’d prefer to have your party away from home, you may want to bring the family to Blue Heron’s Easter brunch, featuring kids’ crafts and live bunnies for the kids to pet. The buffet includes:

  • Freshly sliced fruit
  • Donuts
  • Pastries
  • Assorted frittatas
  • French toast casserole
  • Bacon, sausage and ham
  • Seasonal potato hash
  • Beef tenderloin
  • Grilled chicken
  • Marinated shrimp
  • Gourmet pasta bar
  • Chilled shrimp cocktail
  • Roasted vegetables
  • A dessert buffet
  • A complimentary champagne tower and a cash bar with bloody marys.

The Easter Bunny will be there for photos. Two brunch sessions will be held in the Blue Heron ballroom—at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

While enjoying your Blue Heron meal, you may want to taste some of the brewery’s latest selections, Ben says.

“We recently rolled out our Maggie O’Hooligan Irish red ale, our Stick Your Neck Out stout and our Tailgate Lager, which is a super-light American lager with a low ABV [alcohol by volume],” Ben says. “It’s a nice, easy drinking classic lager. Come springtime we will get into all the fruity, lighter beers. The trends are definitely changing in craft beer. People are gravitating toward lighter, lower-ABV options so they can enjoy a few beers without overdoing it. So, we’re switching to that trend with a lot of our beers, like our Crisp Lemony Zip that will be coming back out in early May.”

Also come springtime, when the weather breaks, Blue Heron will open its picturesque outdoor patio and putt-putt course. In July, the popular Friday summer concert series will make its much-anticipated return.

“There’s so much to look forward to,” Ben says.
