Our faith-based, not-for-profit community is a place where seniors can call home, a welcoming atmosphere that caters to their physical, spiritual and social needs,” —Annette Walters, Corporate Director of Marketing

Providing a home-like haven for joyful aging, where residents are treated like family, is the mission of The Village of St. Edward.

Staying active means being engaged with the community, and residents go on lots of field trips and stay involved. They also enjoy working out in the fitness centers and wellness checks from the nursing department. Walking clubs are popular, and the village even welcomes pets under 20 pounds, who are part of the action.

Emergency pendant alerts lend peace of mind for residents and their families. Chef-prepared, from-scratch meal planning is also a hallmark here.

Spiritual support is offered to Catholics in the form of mass, bible study and carrying out the sacraments. And many residents are non-Catholic, so they also provide plenty of non-denominational support, including monthly Spiritual Potpourri gatherings.

In keeping with its compassionate, Catholic values and commitment to community, seniors will never be asked to leave if they run out of funds.

The Fairlawn location
Founded in 1964, the Fairlawn location has evolved over the years to include extensive facilities for independent living, as well as assisted living, including a rehabilitation and nursing center for round-the-clock care and memory care units.

Independent living offers 77 one- and two-bedroom options, assisted living includes a mix of 73 one-bedroom and studio apartments, nursing care includes 81 units and the secure memory care has 28 units.

A host of amenities include a resident-run Sundry Shop offering food and necessities, a fitness center that holds a full slate of yoga classes and dance exercise, a wellness center and well-appointed beauty shop.

The Wadsworth location
Tucked back on rolling green space in a neighborhood setting, this location encompasses three separate wings dedicated to independent living, assisted living and memory care. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming, with a modern farmhouse esthetic punctuated by sliding barn doors, reclaimed wood, white-washed shiplap walls and roaring stone fireplaces.

There are 50 one- and two-bedroom suites in independent living, 29 one-bedroom and studio units in assisted living and 28 memory care studios for a total of 107 units.

Within the memory care, they’ve created a Snoezelen Therapy Room, a multi-sensory environment specially designed for those with dementia. It enhances quality of life and reduces agitation and anxiety by offering soothing sensory experiences such as music, vibration, colors and textures.

The Green location
The newest village, in Green, offers 50 suites in independent living, 48 apartments in assisted living and 28 apartments in secure memory care.

Built on a beautiful green space with rolling hills and trees, there are many outdoor areas for residents to explore.

Indoors, there are spacious common areas for families to hang out in while visiting, and amenities such as a fitness center, the Springhill Pub and a lovely Chapel to celebrate mass or other spiritual services.

In addition to being chauffeured to doctor’s appointments, residents enjoy a slew of field trips to local attractions, as well as entertainment brought in each week.
