An inside look at how Pura Vida Wellness supports patients through medically guided weight-loss programs, aesthetic treatments and a comprehensive approach to wellness.

Pura Vida Wellness offers comprehensive wellness and aesthetic services designed to meet people where they are and help them move forward with clarity and confidence.

The new year often brings renewed focus on health, routines and long-term goals. It can also bring pressure, confusion and frustration when people are not sure where to start or whom to trust. At Pura Vida Wellness, the goal is simple and steady: provide thoughtful, medically guided care that helps people feel supported, informed and confident in their decisions.

Founded by Dr. Andrew Brobbey, MD; Ashley Follett, LPN; Sarah Umholtz, RN; and Kim Ward, CMA, Pura Vida Wellness was built on the belief that meaningful care starts with listening. Their clinic offers both wellness and aesthetic services with an approach centered on education, clinical oversight and individualized planning rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.

Care at Pura Vida starts with a conversation.

“Our first priority is really getting to know our patients,” Ashley says. “That foundation guides every recommendation.”

Taking the time to understand a patient’s needs and goals allows the team to guide care thoughtfully and effectively across both wellness and aesthetics.

“No matter the service, our goal is to provide care that’s aligned with what matters most to each patient, so they feel confident and supported every step of the way,” she adds.

At Pura Vida, care begins with a complimentary consultation designed to create a clear, realistic path forward. The medical weight- loss program is overseen by Medical Director Dr. Brobbey, with clinical leadership from board-certified advanced practice providers Kelly Siegel, CNP; Rachel Askew, DNP, FNP-BC, WCC; and Marisa Studio, MSPAS, PA-C. Each plan includes in-depth body composition analysis, review of key lab markers and ongoing monitoring to ensure progress is safe, informed and sustainable.

Weight-loss care extends beyond medication. Patients receive continued support through wellness injections, supplements, nutritional guidance and lifestyle recommendations. Follow-up visits focus on education, accountability and adjusting care as the body responds over time. This layered approach allows patients to understand their progress while receiving guidance that adapts to their needs.

In addition to comprehensive wellness care, Pura Vida Wellness offers a full range of aesthetic services, including injectables such as Botox, Dysport and dermal filler, biostimulators like Sculptra and PDGF+, microneedling, facials, laser and light-based therapies, and advanced skin treatments. Each service is guided by clinical experience and individualized planning, allowing care to reflect both health and aesthetic goals.

“For many people, weight, skin and aesthetic concerns come with vulnerability,” Ashley says. “Our team understands that because many of us have walked this path ourselves, and we bring extensive experience guiding patients through medically supervised weight loss and aesthetic care. That perspective helps us educate, support and adjust care in a way that leads to real progress.”

Those shared experiences help foster strong, trusting relationships between the team and its patients.

Long-term results come from clinical experience, ongoing assessment and care that evolves as patients’ goals and needs change. The team prioritizes consistency and follow-through, helping patients stay engaged and confident throughout their care.

That approach is reflected in patient experiences like Rose Vargo’s.

Rose’s Journey to Wellness

“A little over a year ago, I decided to take control of my life and started looking into medical weight-loss plans,” says Rose. “I was referred to Pura Vida by a relative and was incredibly nervous, especially since I had never taken any kind of medication before.”

“My first visit was so informative. The nurses were so patient with me, taking the time to answer all my many questions and helped me set realistic goals,” Rose says. “I started with weekly injections right away, and a year-and-a half later, I’ve lost over 100 pounds and continue to lose.”

“Stepping on the scale in front of someone else used to keep me from even going to the doctor,” she continues. “Now, I actually look forward to my visits. The encouragement from the staff is such a motivating factor.”

Rose says that Pura Vida guided her every step of the way, offering support both mentally and physically.

“I couldn’t imagine going through this without the support, ongoing monitoring and InBody scans,” she adds.

“I’m healthier than I’ve ever been in my adult life, and I truly owe it all to Pura Vida and their wonderful team,” says Rose. “From the receptionists to the nurses, they support you on the hard weeks and celebrate every milestone with you.”

Rose credits the clinic’s consistent monitoring, encouragement and accountability for helping her stay engaged and confident throughout her journey.

“I can’t say enough positive things about Pura Vida and the quality of care they provide to their clients,” Rose says.

As Pura Vida Wellness continues serving the community in 2026, its focus remains unchanged: provide the highest-quality, medically guided care in an environment where patients feel respected, educated and supported.

Pura Vida Wellness offers comprehensive wellness and aesthetic services designed to meet people where they are and help them move forward with clarity and confidence.
