A breakthrough for stubborn nail fungus

Using Clearanail’s precision technology, Dr. Eric Trattner treats fungus beneath the nail—without surgery or lasers.

Clearanail is a procedure Dr. Eric Trattner uses to help rejuvenate unsightly and embarassing nails.

The impenetrability of a toenail and its warm/dark/moist environment make perfect conditions for nail fungus to live and spread. This nasty infection, which affects about 15% of the population, is more than just unsightly. It can also lead to other skin and nail problems, especially for people with diabetes.

The challenge in treatment lies in getting the topical medication to where the fungus is trapped beneath the nail plate. While oral medications are available, they can cause serious side effects such liver damage and gastrointestinal distress. Other invasive treatments may require removing the whole nail.

With 30-plus years of experience, podiatrist Dr. Eric Trattner has seen countless patients suffering from nail fungus. So, when he heard about a new treatment that comes from England called Clearanail, he knew introducing it to his practice was the right thing to do.

“I’d call this non-surgical, non-laser technology revolutionary in how well it treats nail fungus,” he says. “Via a digitally controlled pen, I can make tiny .4-millimeter perforations in the nail plate to allow topical cream to painlessly kill the fungus where it lives. It only takes one 30-minute treatment. Afterward, you can see positive results in six to eight weeks, and a healthy nail regrows over several months.”

If you notice one or more nails turning whiteish, yellow or brown, and becoming thickened, elevated, crumbly or brittle, the sooner you take care of the fungus, the better the outcome. It won’t go away or get better on its own.

Dr. Trattner is currently one of a handful of podiatrists in the country to offer Clearanail—and the only one in Ohio.

Other treatment modalities he offers include laser treatments, minimally invasive surgery for hammertoes and the Swift Wart microwave technology for eliminating warts.

Dr. Trattner has convenient appointments available at his office in Twinsburg, located at 8900 Darrow Road. Call 330-405-3301 to learn more about your treatment options or visit ClevelandFootDoctor.com.
