One of the best-known providers of luxury fiberglass pools in the manicured neighborhoods of Avon and Avon Lake, Peters Professional Landscaping is gearing up for another landmark year.

“The demographic of higher-end homes has made this area a great fit with us,” says Owner Chris Peters, who founded the award-winning landscaping and pool company in 1992. “Our customers want to transform their backyards into a vacation playland and customize pools that reflect their homes. Summers in Cleveland are fleeting. People have worked hard and want to make the most of their property.”

Return on investment, adding value to a home, is another reason Peters’ operations have expanded on the West Side.

What’s Trending?

Chris works with one of the top pool manufacturers in the country, Thursday Pools. It brings cutting-edge innovation and endless options for customization to the industry.

“We can individualize any pool to fit the taste, lifestyle and whims of the homeowner,” he says. “In terms of design, the sky’s the limit.”

When it comes to pool preferences in Northeast Ohio, he reports they have shifted over the past year or two.

“People were asking for bigger and bigger pools that take up more space in their yards,” he says. “Now they are looking for smaller, flat-bottomed styles without a deep end. Most people want wraparound benches for casual bench seating lining the interior perimeter of their pool, or built-in tanning loungers at a shallow end for a resort vibe. Water features, like intricate cascading waterfalls and sunken spillover spas, elevate the lavish effect.”

Chris also says he helps homeowners create pools that offer long-term flexibility and grow with their family.

“We come up with a style that’ll fit their children and friends now, then years from now. When the kids move away, it will still be a nice fit for parents who want to entertain more,” he adds.

Next-Level Pool Connectivity

Thanks to AI-driven technology (the good kind you don’t need to worry will make your job obsolete), the modern pool-owning experience isn’t what it used to be. You can monitor and control everything from your phone.

Chris has just returned from what the industry calls “pool school” in Florida, where all the latest and greatest innovations were unveiled.

“We learned about some amazing advancements,” he says. “Thanks to internet connectivity, pool owners can connect to their pools virtually. For instance, they can remotely check if a cover is on and find out the alkalinity of the water. They can also monitor and control the temperature. Maybe it’s a refreshing 73 degrees and they are leaving work and would prefer a soothing 80 degrees by the time they get home.”

People can also manage the levels of lighting in their poolscape, timing it to the sunset or changing the LED styles and colors to suit the mood of a party.

“These enhancements take away any concerns homeowners may have that managing a pool will be a chore,” says Chris. “People trust us to deliver low-maintenance luxury, and we take that seriously.”

From a safety perspective, the technology also monitors motion activity. If a cover isn’t fully on, the homeowner would be alerted, which is key for homes with children or pets around.

Whether you’d like to wave a wand over your backyard by installing a pool, outdoor kitchen or stunning patio, now’s the best time to have Chris or one of his staff pay you a visit and show you where your imagination can take you.
