Stop deer damage now

With En Garde Deer Defense, you can protect your valuable landscaping plants by discouraging deer from feasting in your yard and sending them back where they belong.

A young deer with its mouth open stands in a sunny meadow among white daisies.

Once deer learn your yard is an all-you-can-eat buffet, making them return to the woods is more challenging. That’s why calling now is so essential.

It’s been a wet, rainy spring. That’s bad news for outdoor graduation parties and picnics, but great news for our lawns and gardens. Local landscaping plants are healthy, beautiful and lush, including daylilies, hostas, roses and hydrangeas.

But these and many more flora are also the ones most coveted by hungry deer, and right now, local deer are famished. They’re feeding their new, young fawns and seeking the nutrition your lovely hostsas can provide.

Regardless of how many different ways you’ve tried to stop them, there is one way that actually works. The locally owned En Garde Deer Defense can encourage the deer on your property to go back where they belong—into the woods (or at least to the adjacent neighborhood).

How It Works

Even if you’ve already seen some damage, it’s not too late to enjoy a beautiful yard this summer. En Garde is in full swing, applying its effective deer deterrent to properties throughout Northeast Ohio. This proprietary formula—developed by company founder Jeff Ardo—is not available online or in stores. That’s because the ingredients that make it effective cannot be stored on a shelf. “We mix our spray fresh every morning,” Jeff says. “It’s weather-resistant, transparent, virtually odorless to humans—and it works.”

But how to spray is equally important.

En Garde’s spray technicians undergo extremely comprehensive training, including an online test in which each tech must identify 90-plus different species of plants and declare whether they are vulnerable to deer. New employees also undergo a four- to six-week, hands-on, in-the-field apprenticeship program with a trained technician before being allowed to work alone.

Jeff says an application every three weeks is effective in 80% of cases, but sometimes it takes more. “It depends on the speed of plant growth,” Jeff explains. “And that’s related to plant species, soil quality, rain and nutrients. We usually recommend spraying vulnerable plants, but also the perimeter of the property. If we make your entire yard unattractive to deer, they simply move on.”

When was the last time you worked with a business owner so confident in their service that they offer a free trial? That’s what Jeff does.

“We believe so strongly in what we do that we offer every homeowner their first application for free with no obligation to continue,” Jeff says. “We do this because most homeowners sign up for our service once they see how well it works.”

Clients must be happy because En Garde has 330-plus Google reviews with a 4.9-star average rating.

En Garde Deer Defense serves all of Northeast Ohio. To schedule your free trial, call 440-447-0022 or fill out a form online at EGDeerDefense.com.

A Tip from Mimi

When engaging En Garde Deer Defense to protect your valuable landscaping plants, don’t be tempted to point out where to spray. That’s like telling your automotive mechanic how to fix your car. En Garde spray technicians are experienced and highly trained in identifying plant species, including which ones are vulnerable to deer. Trusting them to do the job also means you don’t have to be home when they arrive to treat your landscaping.
