Scoop of color

Scooping up inspiration from classic ice cream flavors, Neapolitan hair is bringing a delicious blend of color to salons this summer.

A pair of hands holds a white, open-top container filled with vibrant orange and purple flower buds.

Neapolitan hair blends rich chocolate brown, creamy vanilla blonde and strawberry pink tones for one of summer’s sweetest color trends.

If you want to get the scoop on this summer’s hottest hair color trends, Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa is always serving up fresh inspiration.

“Summer is the perfect time to have fun with your hair and try something more playful,” says Melissa Gilmore, a cosmetologist at Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa. “Clients are asking for looks that feel trendy but are still wearable to work—something that feels joyful.”

One of the most requested looks this season? Neapolitan hair.

A vibrant, multi-tonal trend inspired by the classic three-flavor ice cream—featuring a blend of chocolate brown, creamy vanilla blonde and strawberry pink—this hair style provides a playful pop of color and a bit of nostalgia.

“Chunky color blocking was popular back in 2010 and now is having a revival,” says Melissa, who has been styling and coloring hair at Cory’s for the past decade. “It’s a fun time to be a hairdresser with all these bold color options, from Neapolitan to ghost roots to foxtails.”

The beauty of Neapolitan hair is its versatility. For a bolder statement, the colors can be placed in higher-contrast panels that clearly showcase each shade. For a more subtle approach, the tones can be delicately blended in layers.

“It really depends on the client’s personality,” Melissa explains. “You can go bold or subtle as both look beautiful.”

No matter how it is customized, Neapolitan hair captures the essence of summer: lighthearted and full of fun.

Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa is at 7216 Pearl Road, Middleburg Heights. Call 440-888-8864 or visit CorysHairStudio.net.
