Pura Vida Wellness was founded by three women whose friendship has spanned over a decade. Ashley Follett, LPN; Sarah Umholtz, RN; and Kim Ward, CMA, shared a dream of opening a haven for those seeking to reach transformative goals, personal growth, wellness and, most importantly, happiness.

Their holistic approach is designed to treat the body inside and out because helping people navigate what makes them happy has always been Pura Vida’s purpose. 

“We always ask our clients what their goal is when they come through the door.” says Ashley. “No matter what the service, it’s about how can we help you feel your best and create those small goals to get there.”

So, how does it work? It all starts with a free consultation to determine objectives and come up with a plan to reach the best results. For example, their individualized weight-loss programs—which are evaluated by medical director Dr. Andrew Brobbey and nurse practitioner Kelly Siegel—feature in-depth body scans that measure muscle mass and protein intake. Blood can be taken in-office to make sure cholesterol and vitamin panels are optimal. A weight loss regimen is provided along with a whole picture that uncovers underlying issues while educating clients about their bodies. 

“It can be very vulnerable coming into a place like this, regarding skin or weight-loss issues,” says Ashley. “We’ve all been there. A large portion of our building’s employees are currently using, or have recently used, weight-loss medication. We know the journey and struggles. We’re here to support you and encourage you.”
