Light up the night

In addition to keeping homes safe from electrical hazards, the Streb Electric team is also adept at creating stunning outdoor lighting installations tailored to each project.

Streb technicians can do everything from bonding and grounding for both in-ground and above-ground pools, as well as adding electricity for when homeowners update their mechanicals like a new filter or heater.

Is it possible to get sick of the sounds of kids splashing in the pool, an ice cream truck coasting down your street or ice cubes plopping into a summer cocktail on the patio? Welcome to prime outdoor gratification season. The creative and trusty techs at Streb Electric are here to help you indulge in it.

Outdoor Living Spaces Lighting

“Homeowners are looking to extend the time they spend in their back yards by adding outdoor lighting,” says General Manager Ryan Streb. “While oftentimes people consider this a DIY job, it’s really best left to a professional. It’s dangerous to keep adding lighting and just overloading an extension cord with plugs. They can overheat, melt or ignite if there’s anything combustible nearby.”

Ryan and his design team work to create different layers of lighting around outdoor living spaces for a sophisticated effect.

Landscape lighting is also a specialty at Streb Electric. Streb is adept when it comes to sitting down with the homeowner and customizing a scheme to best enhance a home’s unique architectural features and landscaping, adding drama and visual appeal.

“This investment in your curb appeal can make yours the best-looking house on the street now and also ensure future ROI when you go to sell,” says Ryan. “We’ve done many of these jobs over the years and it’s become rewarding to make such a difference in our customers’ lives.”

He reports Streb is currently about two weeks out scheduling these jobs, so if you pull the trigger and call for a consultation soon, there will still be plenty of summer for you to savor.

Pool, Swim Spa, Hot Tub Specialists

This year, lots of people have installed a pool, spa or hot tub. Whether you have a new one or are reworking or updating an existing one, this is another job best left to a professional.

“Let’s face it: Water and electricity do not mix well,” says Ryan. “The potential for electrocution working around water always poses a dangerous risk.”

There are numerous codes that must be met with every job. Streb technicians can do everything from bonding and grounding for both in-ground and above-ground pools, as well as adding electricity for when homeowners update their mechanicals like a new filter or heater.

Trust Factor

Very few local, family-owned businesses can say they’ve expanded their operations over a half-century led by three generations.

“We’ve continued to honor the values that mean the world to us: honesty, respect, caring and hard-working,” says Ryan. “We are honest in every customer interaction, caring to customers and each other, respectful when we are in a person’s home, and hard-working when it comes to going the extra mile to find electrical solutions and ensure safety for families.”

The legacy began with his grandfather, one truck and one or two other electricians lending a hand. It continued when Ryan’s father Bill bought into the business in 2001. Now they are up to nine trucks and more than 20 employees. In 2022, they moved into a 11,000-square-foot warehouse to keep up with demand.

“Trust is a key for us,” he adds. “Our trucks are fully wrapped in the company logo, all techs wear uniforms, and they even text a photo of the electrician who will be coming to your home the day of service. We make sure our trucks are loaded with hundreds of parts to address nearly any issue in a home, so homeowners won’t have to wait on a part.”

The five-star reviews are testament to Streb Electric’s customer-centric care.

Take Don M., who had his 111-year-old home’s garage rewired. He says, “This was the best service experience I have had. The project was urgent, but not an emergency, and Streb fit us into their schedule within two days of my contact. The project was completed in less than the estimated three days and slightly under budget! We received impeccable craftsmanship in the installation.”

Streb Electric is headquartered in Willoughby and serves homes and businesses throughout Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties. Call 440-953-5819 or visit StrebElectric.com for more information.

Membership Has Its Privileges

Putting the customer first has always been the way the Streb family runs its operations.

As part of their mission to take top care of its customers, GM Ryan Streb and his team introduced the Safety & Savings Plan. Today he reports more than 10% of their customers have signed on to become members.

Here’s how it works: For a blanket fee of $16 per month, members receive different levels of discounts and savings, including lifetime warranties on installations and annual electrical safety inspections.

“We’ve always conducted our relationships with transparency in pricing and services,” he says. “Most people don’t know a lot about their home’s electricity, so we go out of our way to educate them about everything we do to make their home run safely and efficiently.”
