Hope happens here

The Hope for B.E.S.T. Fest brings families together for food, games, entertainment and a shared commitment to supporting mental health.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate the start of fall? Mark your calendar for The Hope for B.E.S.T. Fest, a community celebration where families, friends—and even four-legged companions—can enjoy a day packed with entertainment while making a difference.

Held on the south lawn behind Avon Middle School (or inside the gym in case of rain), the festival is filled with activities for every age. Kids can partake in face painting, balloon art, inflatables and an obstacle course in the Family Fun Zone while adults browse local vendors, sample delicious offerings from food trucks and try their luck on raffle baskets and silent auction items.

“There are many exciting additions this year,” says Lori Yeager, founder of the non-profit organization she created to help others cope with their silent thoughts after she lost her brother to suicide. “You can create colorful keepsakes with the spin art machine, make your own cotton candy, adopt a Bear Factory stuffed animal, and even send Avon football players down into the dunk tank.”

Every game played, raffle ticket purchased and silent auction bid helps support The Hope for B.E.S.T.’s mission to help individuals facing mental health challenges by fostering education, compassion and access to resources that prioritize mental well-being and break the stigma surrounding mental health.

“All money raised is invested to support students, create conversations around mental health, and help young people feel seen, supported and empowered,” Lori says. “We thank Cooper Disposal and other local businesses for their sponsorships for the past five years.”

Whether you come for the games, the food or simply to spend time with family, you’ll leave knowing you’ve helped make a positive impact. Admission is free, so gather your friends and neighbors and join the community for an unforgettable afternoon of fun, friendship and hope.
