Home services for veterans

Since several of our caregivers are veterans, there’s something special about the care they offer other veterans, sharing a culture and commonality.

With the nation celebrating its 250th anniversary this month, we find ourselves reflecting on those who helped shape its legacy, our veterans. As a provider of in-home care services and heartfelt companionship for seniors, we felt it was important to become certified to work with veterans benefits to honor their legacy of courage, sacrifice and strength.

Many of the veterans we serve today remain as they were in their years of service: independent, humble and reluctant to ask for help.

At Seniors Helping Seniors, we understand that accepting care can feel like surrendering autonomy, but we’ve seen the opposite to be true. Accepting a little help isn’t a sign of losing independence. It’s often what allows someone to keep it.

Even a few hours a week of support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families, whether it’s companionship, transportation to appointments, help with errands, or simply giving a devoted spouse or family caregiver time to themselves.

Every care plan we create, put together after we meet with the client to come up with a well-matched caregiver, is thoughtfully tailored to them. Since several of our caregivers are veterans, there’s something special about the care they offer other veterans, sharing a culture and commonality. This mutual experience often creates an immediate bond, an unspoken understanding that brings comfort and dignity to the care relationship.

Our non-medical home care services include everything from safety and fall prevention to medication reminders, daily living needs like getting dressed, running errands, transportation to appointments, companionship socialization, meal prep, shopping, light housekeeping and pet care.

Seniors Helping Seniors serves seniors in Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties. Visit SeniorCareNEO.com or call 440-494-8156 for more information. The agency accepts veterans’ benefits, long-term care insurance and private pay. They are hiring.
