Chic and unique

Traci's Back Door Boutique is bursting with sustainable style.

Whether building your own bar, or shopping for darling hostess gifts that are conversation starters, on a row of chic bar carts in the back of the boutique, she’s put together collections of bar sets, ice buckets, pitchers and colorful décor. (Photography: Adrienne Rose)

Local style maven Traci Sarver opened Traci’s Back Door Boutique in April to appeal to super-savvy shoppers who share her love of adorable fashions, from athletic wear to evening dresses, coats for all seasons, designer handbags, jewelry and home goods, with a specialty in vintage barware.

Aptly named (you go through the back door of Pinnacle Sports in Medina to get there), the charming and spacious boutique has what it takes to cultivate the perfect outfit, whether you are a small, medium or large woman, man, baby, child or teen.

“I love designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Gucci, Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent,” says Traci. “Some of our most popular lines include J. Crew, Chico’s, Nike, Levi’s, adidas, Tommy Bahama, Carhartt and Polo. Our loyal customers tell me they like the mix of new and pre-loved merchandise that I handpick.”

Customers are thrilled with Traci’s collection of timeless treasures and her unique mix of high-end and affordable brands, with new pieces being added weekly.

What’s on Trend?
According to Traci, who goes on buying trips in the U.S. and abroad, denim is having a moment.

“We’re seeing every shade of denim and every style of jeans, from skinny leg to flared leg,” she says. “And it’s popular to pair different denims in the same outfit, which is fun.”

Another must-have item this season, in both fashion and home decor, is animal print, whether it’s in homage to leopards, giraffes, tigers, zebras or cows.

“Colorful faux fur, whether vests, collars or trim on skirts, is also big right now,” she says. “I love working with shoppers to create different looks for them, encouraging them to try something new. When they come out of the dressing room looking fabulous, I feel like my job is done.”

From an ostrich feather-trimmed LBD for New Year’s Eve to stretchy black “leather look” pants to go with a sequined blouse for cocktail parties, Traci has you covered in the sparkle and shine department—and at a fraction of the cost.

Since many of the timelessly elegant fashions have an Audrey Hepburn-esque vibe, it’s fitting that Traci has fashioned a section featuring “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” memorabilia, including wall art of the style icon.

Ultra-Cool Barware
Whether building your own bar, or shopping for darling hostess gifts that are conversation starters, on a row of chic bar carts in the back of the boutique, she’s put together collections of bar sets, ice buckets, pitchers and colorful décor. (Hint: Don’t miss the section of lounge-worthy Rat Pack-inspired vintage décor and classic cocktail books.)

“It’s great to see people returning to the elegance of yesteryear,” Traci says. “I’m also following the Bridgerton trend and have created a section of fine English bone china tea and coffee sets. Those are quite popular.”

Get Your Festive On
Traci has brought in a slew of new merch to make your home and closet merry and bright, everything from ornaments and candles to stockings, pillows, Christmas sweaters, evening dresses and precious little bejeweled evening bags. And for the upscale candle lover in your life, even if it’s you, she has recently introduced the high-end line of hand-poured soy wax Boujie Candles, with luscious scents like Cashmere.

On the social end, check out her Facebook page for Sip ’n’ Shop events to begin in December.

“My shoppers are like a real community,” she says. “They feel like they can stop in, take a look around, hang out, and not feel rushed. Shopping should be fun.”

Traci’s Back Door Boutique is located inside Pinnacle Sports at 313 Medina Road, Suite #105, in Medina. The separate entrance is at the back of the building. Call 330-239-0616 or visit the Facebook page for more information.
